Yoo Yeon-seok said, 'After 'The Recipe for Happiness - Love Words are Mendolontot,' I am returning to MBC dramas after 9 years. My first drama appearance was in the MBC drama 'General Hospital 2' with Cha Tae-hyun. For me, it is like returning home to the drama world, and I am excited to meet viewers in a new genre of romance thriller.' He continued, 'Recently, I have played indecisive and gentle characters in romance dramas. However, in this work, I play the cold and emotionally hidden character Sa-on (Yoo Yeon-seok), whose romance mood intensifies due to an incident. As the cold character is gradually revealed, many charms emerge. I felt attracted to the changing nature of Sa-on, which led me to decide to participate.' The drama begins with a secret romance thriller where a couple in a strategic marriage, living without conversation for three years, receives a threatening phone call from a kidnapper. The new MBC Friday-Saturday drama 'When the Phone Rings' will start airing in Korea on the 22nd at 9:50 PM.
