It seems that DAY6's Dowoon posted a message referring to dating rumors and marriage rumors with YouTuber Yu Jiyu, causing backlash among fans. Some fans held a truck demonstration in front of the JYP Entertainment building, demanding Dowoon's departure from the group. Yesterday (28th), a truck demonstration demanding Dowoon's departure was held in front of the JYP Entertainment building. The electronic display board showed messages like "Dowoon's departure," "No comment," and "Do you wish for Dowoon's departure?" Fans pointed out that the issue lies more in how the situation was handled rather than the dating rumors themselves. Recently, dating rumors between Dowoon and Yu Jiyu spread mainly in online communities. Similar items and accessories they used, photos of their pet dog, and connections among acquaintances were highlighted as hints, and there were even sightings of them discussing wedding plans, leading to marriage rumors. Yu Jiyu is known as the sister of YouTuber Yu Hae-joo. In response, JYP Entertainment stated, "We are not in a position to comment particularly," leading some fans to believe that they have effectively acknowledged the dating rumors. As the situation escalated, Dowoon posted on his social media, "Our team will never disappear. I am not going anywhere, and please ignore any bad comments related to me for a while. I apologize for hurting you. Please wait a little longer." However, fans expressed disappointment at this ambiguous comment, especially since it was difficult to interpret as an apology or explanation, and reactions arose that the misspellings and dialect mixed in the text felt light. DAY6 is currently active as a four-member group consisting of Sungjin, Young K, Wonpil, and Dowoon. In July, they are scheduled to hold their 10th-anniversary tour "FINALE in SEOUL" at the KSPO DOME in Seoul, with a concert in Kobe next month.
