The 1st KOREA GRAND MUSIC AWARDS (KGMA) announced a special lineup. The KGMA organizing committee announced on the 24th that the '1st KGMA' will be held on November 16 and 17 at Inspire Arena in Incheon, Jung District, Unseo-dong, and informed that (G)I-DLE, Lee Yong-ji, CLASS:y, and (G)I-DLE's Ugi will appear. (G)I-DLE, which is included in the special lineup, is a top girl group with many mega-hit songs such as 'LATATA', 'Alone', 'TOMBOY', 'Nxde', 'Queencard', 'Super Lady', 'Fate', and 'Klaxon'. Led by Soyeon, most members are capable of songwriting and composing, leaving a strong impression with messages that embody a confident and proactive female image. Lee Yong-ji is the first female winner of Mnet's 'High School Rapper' series, and her attractive rap is characterized by her mid-low voice and unique personality. She is also active in variety shows like tvN's 'Pyeon Pyeon Earth Entertainment Room' and the YouTube channel 'More Boring Things', and her collaboration with EXO's D.O. on 'Small Girl' topped music charts, raising interest in whether she will perform with him at the KGMA. CLASS:y is a seven-member girl group formed through MBC's audition program 'After School's Excitement' in February 2022. They gained popularity with their debut song 'SHUT DOWN' and have been noted for their stable live performance and powerful performances since their debut. They are set to make a comeback in November after two years and one month. Ugi, a member of (G)I-DLE, is also an attractive solo artist with a mid-low voice and excellent songwriting and composing skills. Her solo mini-album 'YUQ1', released in April, achieved half a million sales. She plans to showcase a fantastic performance at the KGMA not only as a member of (G)I-DLE but also as a solo artist. The '1st KGMA' is a ceremony to select and award singers and music that have achieved results in various genres of popular music, including K-POP and trot, loved by fans in Korea and abroad for a year, and is expected to be a festival where artists and fans unite. Previously, the first lineup included NewJeans, NiziU, aespa, ATEEZ, ZEROBASEONE, and SHINee's Taemin; the second lineup included DAY6, EXO's D.O., RIIZE, BIBI, STAYC, NCT WISH, UNIS, N.Flying's Yoo Fesung, JO1, P1Harmony, and QWER; and the third lineup included TVXQ, TREASURE, Lee Mujin, FIFTY FIFTY, and NOWADAYS. The gathering of luxurious performers has attracted attention from K-POP fans not only in Korea but worldwide. As for the adult contemporary lineup, Yong Tak, Lee Chang-won, Jung Dong-won (JD1), and Song Gain will also perform, raising expectations for a music festival that fans of various genres can enjoy together. MCs include NewJeans' Hani, aespa's WINTER, and actress Nam Ji-hyun. Hani and Nam Ji-hyun will serve as MCs on the first day, November 16, while WINTER and Nam Ji-hyun will MC on the 17th. This year's award ceremony will be directed by Han Dong-chul of PHUNKY STUDIO, who is known for directing 'MAMA' and establishing it as a representative award ceremony of Mnet, as well as planning and directing 'SHOW ME THE MONEY', 'UNPRETTY RAP STAR', and 'Produce 101', earning the title of 'Godfather of Korean Audition World'.
