WINNER's Kang Seungyoon has made a comeback with his 2nd solo full album "PAGE 2." Released on November 3, "PAGE 2" is like a short story collection woven with Kang Seungyoon's unique delicate sensibility and expression of various emotions faced in daily life. This is his first solo album in about 4 years and 7 months, and he has led the production of all songs, visuals, and promotions, garnering even more intense interest than before. In this work, listeners can glimpse a deeper musical world through diverse genres such as dance, R&B, rock, and ballads, along with heartfelt stories. Kang Seungyoon stated, "I wanted to record the emotions and memories that come to mind in each moment as they are. I hope you enjoy the new stories that unfold as the songs progress." When asked to summarize the album in one keyword, Kang Seungyoon replied: "Multifaceted." Each of the 13 songs expresses different emotions and stories, all considered as another face derived from his inner self. The album package and promotional content feature many origami motifs, symbolizing that just as new faces emerge from origami, Kang Seungyoon also has various aspects to his personality. He introduced the title track "ME (Beauty)" as a fun dance song infused with synth-pop and rock sounds, which he feels best represents the album. The lyrics contain many contrasting expressions like "soft yet sharp" and "calm yet wild," and he hopes listeners will explore these multifaceted beauties. The message he wants to convey through "ME (Beauty)" is to boldly shake up the beauty of youth and enjoy it to the fullest, capturing precious memories in music. The music video also highlights a bright and refreshing mood, aiming to express the essence of youth through scenes of road trips with friends and skateboarding. He believes it captures the moments of youth as they are. Unlike his first album, this title track is a dance song, and he confidently states it is his favorite performance to date, with choreography that matches the upbeat mood. He particularly highlights an interesting movement using a rubber band attached to a stand microphone. Among the 13 tracks, he feels a special attachment to "PICK YOU UP (Feat. SECHSKIES's Eun Ji Won)," which he considers a fan song dedicated to his supporters. He also cherishes "S.A.D," written from the perspective of his beloved dog, Thor. The difference between this album and his first full album "PAGE" is that while "PAGE" focused on his thoughts and stories, "PAGE 2" adds more diversity and depth. It includes music born from imagination, like "FOLLOW" inspired by fusion period drama scenes and "LIE TO ME (Feat. Holyun)" created from watching a reality show about separated lovers. He approached production like a novelist creating new stories or an actor playing out fictional situations. He hopes listeners will enjoy the album by creating playlists for different moods, such as upbeat tracks for driving and calm songs for relaxation. He wants to leave an impression of being an artist whose next album is eagerly anticipated, shedding past images and sparking curiosity about his future music. His driving force is to become someone his fans, family, colleagues, and friends can be proud of, and he finds happiness in being useful to others. He is currently busy preparing for his comeback, approaching it with a fresh mindset as if starting anew. His schedule is packed with TV shows, YouTube, and radio, and he is continuously brainstorming ideas to reach more listeners. He hopes fans and others will enjoy participating in the fun challenges related to the title track. He reflects on the album as being filled with his essence and wants to tell himself, "Well done," for the enjoyable process of creating it. He aims to focus on the next stage and continue to grow.
