BTS's RM spoke about his ankle injury. Today (20th), during a comeback celebration Weverse live stream with the members, he said, "We prepared for the concert together for a wonderful stage, but I might have overdone it a bit and injured my ankle." He continued, "I practiced hard for the dance this time, but due to the injury, it will be difficult to show performances for the time being," and revealed, "For the Gwanghwamun Square performance, I will do my best to sing and create the atmosphere on stage." He also did not forget to encourage the fans who were worried. RM added, "It's not serious, so I will recover in time for the concert. It's a stage we all prepared together, so I hope you look forward to it." Jimin commented on his appearance in a documentary, saying, "My face was in a terrible state," and revealed he has lost 9-10 kg since then. RM also mentioned, "There is about a 10 kg difference from now." Jin shared that he has been exercising to lose weight alongside the members in preparation for the comeback. He added, "I used to think being thin was ideal and said everyone (the members) was forced to do so, but now I am exercising because my health has been declining." Jimin, who is set to perform at Gwanghwamun Square the next day, mentioned he developed acne on his face and joked, "If it doesn't bother the members, I will go get an injection during practice breaks," making the members laugh. The members expressed their desire to respond to fans' love with good music and a great stage, stating, "We are doing our best to prepare. We will work hard." BTS's fifth full album 'ARIRANG' contains 14 tracks, including the title song 'SWIM', encapsulating their honest experiences and struggles throughout their journey, representing 'now's BTS'. The members began discussing the album title 'ARIRANG', saying, "Many people had various predictions and questions just from the title." Jimin shared, "When we heard the album title, we talked a lot among ourselves. Is it okay? The folk song 'Arirang' has a very significant meaning for Koreans, as it is something we have known since childhood, so there was a lot of discussion about whether we could use this word." RM revealed, "We discussed a lot, but it seems that what connects us now is only 'loving ourselves' and 'being Korean.' I think what can connect the seven members is that we are all Korean. So after careful consideration, we chose this keyword." Jimin added, "The most discussed topic was identity, what it means to be ourselves, and what it means to be BTS, leading to the idea of incorporating Korean-ness since we are all Korean." V explained, "It is very Korean, but the word 'Arirang' itself is lovely and very meaningful, so I thought there would be many things we could express beyond that," and RM conveyed, "Because various emotions are included, we can express the diverse feelings we are trying to convey well." J-HOPE reflected, "Looking back, I think it was a wonderful decision," and said, "Making 'Arirang' the album title is, in a sense, very bold and feels very much like us." RM explained, "Would the world have changed while we were away? Many wonderful artists have emerged, and juniors are showing great activities in different ways than we did, so we tried to create an album that embodies the conflict of needing to pursue newness while cherishing our roots." Finally, RM expressed, "I feel that the fact that all of us are gathered is a very miraculous and grateful thing. I feel like I have simulated the scene of us gathering and discussing the album release hundreds of thousands of times. The fact that we have reunited is truly moving. This album was born from the many conflicts and struggles we went through between the desire to change and the essence of BTS." He continued, "I feel very fortunate that seven adult men in their 30s are moving toward the same goal. Due to my ankle injury, I won't be able to show my secret choreography, but I will do my best to prepare for the stage tomorrow. I have believed in you all for 14 years. I will continue to run stronger and more beautifully to respond to the love we have received." Jin revealed, "After being discharged, I was active alone for about a year and a half, and it was very lonely. I have been happy to be with the members these past few months, and I hope it continues. I really like working with the team. Thank you for your continued support." V shared, "I have been looking forward to this time for a long time. Since it has been a long time since I stood on stage, I was half excited and half anxious about whether I could show the same energy as before. Seeing the members during practice, I thought they looked cooler than before. I want to show it as soon as possible. For tomorrow's performance, we will do it safely, coolly, and properly." On the 20th, according to their agency BIGHIT MUSIC, RM injured his ankle during rehearsal on the 19th. The agency reported, "The hospital examination resulted in a diagnosis of 'painful accessory navicular and partial ligament rupture and talus sprain (ligament damage and inflammation),' and after putting a cast on his foot, he must minimize movement for at least two weeks and focus on recovery as per the medical team's diagnosis." The agency stated, "Since it is a comeback stage in a symbolic space like Gwanghwamun, the artist's strong will to create a high-quality performance was very strong, but we prioritized the medical team's diagnosis and decided together with the artist to minimize RM's movements during 'BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE | ARIRANG' to prevent further injury. We would like to inform you that RM's movements and some performances on stage will be limited. We deeply apologize for causing disappointment to the fans and audience who have been waiting for this stage." BTS released their fifth full album 'ARIRANG' today. To celebrate the comeback, they will hold 'BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE | ARIRANG' at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul at 8 PM on the 21st, where they will debut their new songs on stage.
