The 6-member boy group BOYNEXTDOOR from South Korea released their JP 1st single "AND," today marking their Japan debut at Roppongi Hills Arena with a release showcase. They greeted in Japanese, performed hit songs, and shared their experiences in Japan.
BOYNEXTDOOR made a stunning appearance at the Volleyball Men's World Championship opening ceremony, becoming the first Korean global ambassador for FIVB. They energized the crowd with performances of their hits, including 'I Feel Good' and 'Earth, Wind & Fire,' while expressing gratitude and encouragement to the athletes. They are preparing for a comeback in October, raising anticipation for their new music.
BOYNEXTDOOR's second single 'BOYLIFE' has shipped over 250,000 copies, receiving platinum certification from the Japan Record Association. Following their first single 'AND,' this marks their second consecutive platinum achievement. 'BOYLIFE' sold approximately 346,000 copies and topped the Oricon weekly single rankings. They are also the first overseas artists to sell over 300,000 copies in their first week in Japan this year. Additionally, BOYNEXTDOOR will perform at the opening ceremony of the 2025 World Men's Volleyball Championship as global ambassadors, marking a first for a Korean artist.
On the morning of the 11th, BOYNEXTDOOR departed through Incheon International Airport for Manila, Philippines for an overseas schedule. They are also set to challenge making monjayaki for the first time and will be featured on TV Asahi's 'M:ZINE' next week. Additionally, members Jehyun and ZB1's Song Hanbin are graduating as MCs from 'M COUNTDOWN', showcasing their great chemistry.
On the morning of the 5th, K-pop stars including BOYNEXTDOOR's Jaehyun and Seongho, i-dle's Soyeon, and KISS OF LIFE's Julie and Haneul attended a COACH pop-up event in Seoul. BOYNEXTDOOR also attempted making monjayaki for the first time, and fans should look out for their appearance on TV Asahi's 'M:ZINE' next week. Additionally, i-dle's Soyeon and others have been selected as producers for the Japan-Korea joint survival show 'UNPRETTY RAP STAR.'
This September, M:ZINE features BOYNEXTDOOR, with hosts from Mrs. GREEN APPLE and others diving into their appeal. The group, known for their hit 'IF I SAY, I LOVE YOU,' shares experiences and challenges in making monjayaki. New episodes air Fridays, with a full version on CS TV Asahi Channel 1 on September 28.
The 2025 Korea Grand Music Awards (KGMA) will feature prominent K-POP artists such as Stray Kids, IVE, and ATEEZ on November 14-15 in Incheon. This event celebrates K-POP's achievements over the year, with hosts including Red Velvet's Irene and actress Nam Ji-hyun. Further lineups will be announced soon.
