MAMAMOO's Moonbyul invites you to an expanded world of music. Moonbyul will release her 4th mini-album 'laundri' on August 20 at 6 PM on all music streaming sites. Each time she makes a comeback, she actively presents ideas for the entire album production, incorporating upgraded musical abilities. In this new album, she also participates in songwriting and composing, and it is expected to depict her deepened musical color. -- This is her first Korean comeback in about a year. Moonbyul: After the repackage of my 1st full album, I am really returning after exactly one year. While preparing the album, I constantly thought about 'what story I should deliver' and 'how I can expand my music.' Perhaps because of that, this album holds great significance for me, and I am excited and nervous to finally share it. I hope that the fans will be happy with it, as I poured my heart into it after such a long wait. -- I likened various emotions to the process of washing. What was the background behind this concept and what message did you want to convey? Moonbyul: I think emotions in human life are like laundry that cannot dry. It would be nice if only good things happened, but sometimes bad things come too. Just as love can end with lingering feelings or a clear mind, we experience various moments, and I felt that the process of creating all those emotions in my own way and wiping away stained feelings (washing) has meaning. This album is not about simply washing away emotions but rather about wanting them to linger like a faint scent on washed clothes. -- Please introduce the title track 'Goodbyes and Sad Eyes' and any key points about the choreography. Moonbyul: I included a message about shaking off sadness after a breakup and becoming happier in my own way. It might sound like a cheer song for myself. Since there is a story in every line of the lyrics, I recommend listening carefully to them. Also, the choreography features a gesture of kissing the back of the hand while singing 'Goodbye' and expressing tears flowing from the eyes in line with the lyrics 'Don't give me those sad eyes.' -- If you had to choose a laundry softener scent that suits 'solo' Moonbyul, what would it be? Moonbyul: I would choose a 'cool scent.' I think a cool scent has various atmospheres in itself, and I believe it best conveys the diverse images I want to show as a solo artist. -- What has been your driving force this year, from the Japanese single 'Aurora' to fan concerts and the 4th mini-album? Moonbyul: The first thing that comes to mind is my fans, 'SHOOTING STAR' (Moonbyul's fan name). Throughout this process, I have felt that meeting my fans is the driving force of my life and music. No matter where I am or what I show, they support every moment of mine. At the end of that feeling, I promise, 'Because there are people who love me this much, I will never disappoint them' and 'I will work harder to become a better person.' I am preparing various things so that I can meet my fans a lot in the second half of this year, so please look forward to it. -- Please say a word to your fans. Moonbyul: Thanks to my fans who have always waited, cared, and given me courage for 10 years, I have been able to take my steps forward, even if they are a bit late. Thank you for remembering, loving, understanding, and supporting me. I really like our 'strong relationship.' So I want it to last long. Thank you. I love you.
