The 'Best Couple Award' went to Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Ji-won ('Queen of Tears'), and the 'Best OST Award' was given to Kim Taere's 'More Than Enough.' DKZ's Jaechan won the 'Hot Icon Award.' Minister Yoo In-cheong congratulated the festival's 2024 edition, stating that thanks to the passion and contributions of all industry participants, dramas have established their position as a representative industry of K-content. Jinju Mayor Cho Gyu-il expressed happiness that the festival was held in Jinju, the capital of history, culture, and Korean entrepreneurship, thanking many actors for attending. The main award winners in six categories, including 'Best Actor/Actress' and 'Best Newcomer,' were also determined. The 'Best Actor' award went to Im Si-wan ('Boys' Era') and the 'Best Actress' award to Jeong Ryeo-won ('Graduation'). The 'Excellence Award' for male went to Lee I-kyung ('Married to My Husband') and Chi Seung-hyun ('Goryeo-Kitan War'), while the female award went to Ko Min-si ('Sweet Home - My World of Despair - 2'). The male newcomer award went to Baek So-hyuk ('Miss Night & Miss Day') and Lee Si-woo ('Boys' Era'), while the female newcomer award went to Kang Hae-won (IZ*ONE) ('Boys' Era'). Additionally, the 'Scene Stealer Award' went to Kim Hong-pa ('Whirlwind') and Jeong Yeong-joo ('Run, Sonjae' and 'Miss Night & Miss Day'), while the 'KDF Award' went to Kim Yoon-so and Lee Ga-ryeong, and the 'Villain Award' went to Lee I-kyung ('Married to My Husband'). The 'Lifetime Achievement Award' was presented to Byun Hee-bon, who debuted as a voice actor in 1965 and has actively transitioned between theater and drama, further enhancing the ceremony. Notably, Byun Hee-bon's AI appeared to convey her acceptance speech, drawing attention. The 'Best Work Award' went to 'Queen of Tears,' with the production team expressing that it was a meaningful work for all involved, thanks to the viewers' love, it became a wonderful drama. Finally, the Grand Prize was awarded to Lee Hani for her limitless acting range in 'Night Blooming Flowers.' She stated that when she started acting, she fought against many preconceived notions about tall women, and now it has become an opportunity to challenge herself in warrior roles. She believes this award signifies encouragement to work even harder. The successful conclusion of the '2024 KOREA DRAMA FESTIVAL' will continue to entertain audiences with the 'KDF Concert' on the 13th, 'KDF Invitation Seats' from the 15th to 18th, and the 'Short Form Drama Festival' on the 20th.
