He has been suspected of violating military service law by not properly attending his workplace while serving as a social service worker since March 2023. His agency, YG ENTERTAINMENT, commented when the allegations of service negligence surfaced on December 17, 2024, stating, 'The reason for the sick leave was an extension of treatment received before service, and all other leaves were used in accordance with regulations.' Son Minho has remained silent except for the official comment released through YG ENTERTAINMENT. It has been reported that during the third summons investigation, he generally acknowledged the fact of leaving his workplace during working hours. As a result, he was sent to the prosecution in May of last year on suspicion of violating military service law. Subsequently, the Seoul Western District Prosecutor's Office indicted Son Minho at home on December 30 last year on suspicion of violating military service law. The person in charge of the resident benefit facility in Mapo District, where he was serving alternative service, has also been charged for allegedly assisting in his negligence.
