Choi Jung-won has cleared infidelity allegations after a court ruled that his relationship with B did not constitute adultery.

Rather, it is reasonable to view that the marriage broke down due to the defendant (husband) consistently maintaining an oppressive attitude towards the plaintiffs during the process of resolving the conflicts that arose from this.' Attorney Noh stated, 'After the first-instance ruling, B spent immeasurable painful time under the social stigma of being labeled an “adulteress.” This led to a serious deterioration in her health, making it difficult for her to continue working, and she has been enduring every day for her children while battling serious illness.' He also added, 'The Supreme Court generally does not make new judgments on factual matters in legal reviews. Therefore, it is highly likely that the Seoul High Court's ruling will be the substantive final judgment. Since the previous reports claiming that Choi Jung-won and B had an affair have been revealed as untrue through the higher court's judgment, we request that the facts be corrected. We hope that B can recover even a little of the social stigma and lost reputation she has suffered.' A, B's husband who sued Choi Jung-won, claimed since December 2022 that Choi Jung-won had an inappropriate relationship with his wife, and in February 2023, publicly named him as the alleged affair partner. In response, Choi Jung-won argued that he was a 'local acquaintance.' Choi Jung-won filed a complaint against B's husband for defamation, threats, insults, and violations of laws related to the promotion of information communication networks and information protection.
