NEXZ debuted in the K-POP world as a new boy group from JYP Entertainment for the first time in 6 years since Stray Kids. They appeal with the charm of 7 members and embark on a "global debut." On the 20th afternoon, a showcase was held at the YES24 Live Hall in Kwangjin-gu, Seoul to commemorate the release of NEXZ's 1st single "Ride the Vibe," with announcer Shin Ahyoung as the MC. NEXZ, launched by JYP for the first time in 6 years since Stray Kids, is a boy group composed of 7 members with an average age of 17, possessing the characteristics and charm unique to the Z generation. The abbreviation NEXZ, which stands for "Next Z(G)eneration," was named by J.Y. Park, JYP's representative producer and a judge on "Nizi Project," with the aspiration to "open the next era with the music and performances of Z generation members." On this day, member YU expressed his thoughts on debuting as a new boy group from JYP, saying, "I felt pressure from the modifier 'a new boy group from JYP, where Stray Kids seniors, who are popular all over the world, belong.' However, we will turn this pressure into a sense of responsibility and work hard in the future." The debut single "Ride the Vibe" is characterized by a diverse sound in an atmosphere full of a spirit of challenge. The 7 members sing, "Let's ride this vibe together, drawn by the waves of emotions welling up in our hearts, such as excitement, anxiety, and thrills that can only be felt for the first time." YUKI thought, "When the 7 of us gathered and listened to the (title track) for the first time, I thought it was a song that naturally made me move my body to the rhythm of the music. I felt my heart flutter with the expectation that this song would become ours, and I thought, 'I have to work hard from now on!'" and expressed his excitement, saying, "I am very happy to finally debut, which I have been dreaming of, and to be able to present our music to our fans. I am looking forward to our future activities." HYUI added, "As we prepared for our debut and the title track, we always practiced while discussing how to make good use of the team's color and atmosphere. I was actually worried about whether we could express our strengths and colors well. We prepared for (our debut) while encouraging each other." NEXZ was born from the Japan-Korea joint audition project "Nizi Project Season 2" by Sony Music Japan and JYP in 2023. Prior to this, NiziU debuted from "Nizi Project" Season 1. When asked if they received advice from them, TOMOYA replied, "I couldn't create a special opportunity to meet NiziU seniors. However, through the agency staff, they conveyed to us, 'Congratulations on your debut. We hope you enjoy your future activities relying on and helping each other.'" However, if NiziU conquered Japan, NEXZ aims to target the global market including Korea and Japan simultaneously. SO GEON, the group's only Korean member, said, "I am going to debut and work in Korea, but I want to communicate with many people. I want to spread the name of NEXZ by presenting our debut song to many people. What I want to achieve soon is to build up NEXZ's songs firmly, hold our own solo concert, and interact closely with NEX2Y (NEXZ's fans)." In a sense, NEXZ is not the only "localized boy group." HYBE debuted &TEAM in December 2022, launching the localized boy group among the three entertainment companies the fastest. SM Entertainment unveiled NCT WISH in February this year, the last NCT. As a unique point of NEXZ, TOMOYA explained, "I think our strength is to challenge new things that suit the name NEXZ. Our free-spirited atmosphere that can be felt when you see us on stage, and our individual charms are also strengths." HARU added, "I think the vibes unique to NEXZ are about being free, as TOMOYA said, and challenging new things. While performing, each of us has different charms that can be shown every time we have a solo part. The tones of our voices are all different, and each of us has a variety of charms. I think this is our unique vibe." NEXZ debuted in Korea and embarked on a "global debut." HYUI revealed, "We, the members, started from 'Nizi Project' Season 2 with only a passion for dance and singing, and have been preparing for our debut while training at JYP Entertainment." He announced his future activities, saying, "I want to show my charm anywhere if it is a place where I can perform as an artist of JYP Entertainment. I think I would be truly happy if I could spread my charm while engaging in global activities and be loved by global fans." SO GEON also revealed his enthusiasm, saying, "If there is a place where you can come to see us, I want to show NEXZ's stage anytime, and my goal is to spread the name of NEXZ in various countries, attract the interest of many people, and be loved."
