ZEROBASEONE’s Seok Matthew and Park Gunwook have embarked on a new musical challenge as EMP. EMP released “EMP Mixtape Vol.1: We the Extra” yesterday (the 21st) at 6 p.m. through various music sites. EMP is a hip-hop unit self-produced by Seok Matthew and Park Gunwook. The unit name was inspired by Electro Magnetic Pulse, and it carries the meaning of creating a space where only the two members’ music exists, as if all surrounding sounds are cut off at the moment EMP explodes. This mixtape includes a total of four tracks: the double title tracks “EMP” and “Pina C,” as well as “Woofer” and “In your rain.” The two members participated in writing, composing, and producing all of the songs. Following this mixtape, EMP plans to continue its unit activities by releasing a digital single in November.
