SEVENTEEN's DK and Vernon meet music fans worldwide as a new unit 'V8'. According to their agency Pledis Entertainment, the two will release their first unit album on June 29 and enter full-scale activities. The unit name 'V8' is a combination of the initial 'V' from Vernon's English name and the number '8' included in DK's stage name. This symbolizes a strong driving force, powered by their creative senses, like an 8-cylinder engine that runs without rest. Even before their official debut, reactions to the two have been enthusiastic. Through the 'V8 HUNT' challenge held from April 27 for about a month, fans worldwide have been searching for and certifying 'V' and '8' from everyday items like signs and book excerpts, expressing their expectations for the new unit. V8 plans to hold a solo concert immediately after the album release, actively engaging in activities. They will hold their first concert '2026 VERNON THE 8 [V8] LIVE' on July 11 and 12 at KINTEX HALL1 in Gyeonggi-do's Goyang City, meeting fans. Following that, they will perform at AsiaWorld-Expo Hall 10 in Hong Kong on July 18 and 19. The concert poster released today (28th) features simple yet rugged typography that captures the unique energy of V8, attracting attention. Both members have proven their exceptional creativity in group activities, making this unit even more noteworthy. DK has showcased a wide artistic spectrum by merging various genres and dance through his Chinese EP 'STARDUST' released in 2024 and the art film series 'THE 8 Contemporary ART'. Vernon, too, has gained recognition, becoming a full member of the Korean Music Copyright Association (KMCA) in 2024 after releasing the mixtape 'Black Eye' in 2022 and collaborating with numerous artists, and was selected as a member of the Recording Academy last year.
