With the upcoming Gwanghwamun performance of BTS (Bangtan Sonyeondan), the Korean government has begun preparations. The Ministry of Public Administration and Security (Minister: Yoon Ho-jun) announced today (the 3rd) that many people are expected to gather for BTS's comeback performance scheduled for March 21 in the Gwanghwamun area, and that they will prioritize the safety of the public, putting all efforts into venue safety management. Until now, the Ministry of Public Administration and Security has promoted safety management activities in collaboration with local governments, police, and fire departments to prevent accidents at crowd-dense events held throughout Korea. On the 11th, a 'Crowd Safety Management Measures Meeting for the BTS Comeback Event' will be held, presided over by Minister Yoon Ho-jun. This meeting will include the Ministry of Public Administration and Security, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, as well as the Seoul City, Seoul Police Agency, Seoul Fire Disaster Headquarters, and Seoul Transportation Corporation. Additionally, from the 19th to the 20th, a 'Government Joint Safety Inspection Team' will be formed, led by the Ministry of Public Administration and Security, with both public and private sectors participating. The inspection team will closely examine not only the risk factors for crowd management but also the actual safety management situation across the event venue, including first aid, traffic, and facility management. On the morning of the event day, the 21st, Minister Yoon Ho-jun will visit the site to conduct a final check on areas with a high risk of crowd accidents, such as bottleneck sections, slopes, stairs, handrails, and subway station buildings. Before and after the event starts, on-site situation management officers from the Ministry of Public Administration and Security will be dispatched to manage the situation until the gathered people safely disperse, in collaboration with related agencies such as Seoul City, Seoul Police Agency, and Seoul Fire Disaster Headquarters. Minister Yoon Ho-jun emphasized, 'In this event that attracts global attention, it is most important to protect the safety of domestic and international spectators visiting the site,' and stated, 'To ensure that all spectators can enjoy the event safely, we will gather all administrative power to secure safety on-site in cooperation with related agencies during the remaining period.'
