SEVENTEEN’s Hoshi has released a new song during his military service. Pledis Entertainment, his agency, announced today (the 10th), “SEVENTEEN’s Hoshi will release a new song, ‘BOYFRIEND,’ filled with a fresh confession, at 6 p.m. today.” ‘BOYFRIEND,’ in which Hoshi participated in writing the lyrics, is an R&B-based pop song that contains the feeling of wanting to get closer step by step to the person he likes. Hoshi expressed, in his own unique words, the excitement he felt when he first faced love and the feelings of being inexperienced in romance. In particular, he directly expressed his excitement toward the other person with Hoshi’s distinctive energy. The groove of the shuffle rhythm and the fresh synthesizer sound completed a light and refreshing love song. Hoshi enlisted last September as an active-duty Army soldier. He has continued his service assigned to the Army Taekwondo demonstration unit. However, last month, he was diagnosed with a complete tear of the anterior cruciate ligament and underwent surgery.

SEVENTEEN’s Jeonghan and Joshua, forming the new unit JxJ, will release their first mini album, “DREAMSCAPE,” on Oct. 19, 2026, and begin their Asia tour on Oct. 30. The Japan performance at Belluna Dome on Nov. 22 will also be shown live in theaters nationwide, with a postcard giveaway for attendees.
