MAMAMOO's Solar's gravure and interview were released. The musical 'Mata Hari' recently published gravure and an interview in the November issue of 'THEATRE PLUS.' The gravure, filled with Solar's charm and sincerity, raised expectations for her performance in the musical. The work is based on the true story of Mata Hari, a beautiful dancer arrested by French authorities on suspicion of being a double agent during World War I and executed. In the play, Solar plays Mata Hari, the best dancer who makes people forget the pain of war with her sensual dance, while carrying emotional scars. In the released gravure, she attracted attention with her enchanting appearance, as if she had truly become Mata Hari. Perfectly transformed into Mata Hari, Solar captivates viewers with her gaze that expresses inner strength. She showcased her presence with a variety of expressions, poses, and charismatic charm that surprised the staff at the shooting location. In the following interview, she shared her thoughts about the musical 'Mata Hari.' Solar expressed that 'Mata Hari,' being her first musical, is a meaningful work for her, and she felt happy during the preparation, wanting to do it again. She mentioned that there are parts where she thinks, 'I would have done it this way,' and feels that her emotions and thoughts have broadened. She revealed her determination to stand on stage again while feeling these things realistically and filling in the gaps. Solar also discussed her analysis of Mata Hari, her concerns about showcasing ballet, and the fateful love story with Armand that unfolds in the play. When asked about Mata Hari's greatest charm, she said, 'In my ten years of activities, I have stood on many stages, but there haven't been many as glamorous and intricate as this work. Just being able to stand there fills my heart.' She also conveyed her sincerity towards musicals and acting, stating, 'At first, it felt like a high mountain. I was worried if I could do this,' and added, 'Now I feel the charm of it completely. That's why I feel that the audience loves musicals. The reason I want to continue challenging musicals is that there is such charm.' She explained, 'First of all, it's very interesting. I'm the type who doesn't move unless I'm interested, and I believe that if I enjoy acting, that energy will reach the audience. Thanks to musicals, I feel even more charm towards acting.' Solar, who answered her strength as 'confidence,' said, 'The musical was truly a big challenge. Just challenging myself with a musical had great meaning for me. There were difficult and tough moments, but I learned much more. I think it's one of the coolest experiences in my life.' She stated that she prepared hard to compensate for her shortcomings in the work and encouraged those who are hesitant to trust her and come to see it. The musical 'Mata Hari,' in which Solar appears, is the first original musical by EMK Musical Company, led by general producer Om Hong Hyun, who has produced hits like 'Rebecca,' 'The Man Who Laughs,' and 'Beethoven; Beethoven Secret,' along with composer Frank Wildhorn, who is loved by audiences for works like 'The Man Who Laughs,' 'The Count of Monte Cristo,' and 'Jekyll & Hyde,' and lyricist Jack Murphy. It will be performed from December 5 to March 2, 2025, at LG Art Center Seoul, LG SIGNATURE Hall.
