A luxurious cast colors the latest lineup from Korea's 'Disney+' has been announced all at once. The Walt Disney Company, at the 'Disney Content Showcase APAC 2024' now in its second day, has unveiled the latest lineup of original works delivered in collaboration with representative casts and creators from the Asia-Pacific region (APAC). At the venue, new works exclusive to Disney+ were announced, and previously unreleased footage was showcased one after another. On a luxurious stage featuring top stars from Japan and Korea, Disney demonstrated its overwhelming creative excellence. The event announced the latest information on new Korean dramas starring Rowoon and Shin Ye-eun, '濁流', Ji Chang-wook and EXO's D.O. in '捏造された都市', and '北極星' featuring Jeon Ji-hyun, Kang Dong-won, and John Cho, as well as 'メイド・イン・コリア' starring Hyun Bin and Jung Woo-sung. Furthermore, it was announced that the latest work 'ムービング' Season 2, created with the creator Kamphool, who worked on 'ムービング' and '照明店の客人たち', is currently in production. 'ムービング' was released in 2023 and recorded global hits on Disney+ and Hulu. Last year, it ranked first among all local original works on Disney+ worldwide, receiving high praise with over 10 awards. Since starting the production of Disney+ original works from Asia in 2021, over 130 original works have been distributed, receiving high evaluations across various works. Last year, among the top 15 exclusive streaming works produced outside the U.S. based on view counts, 9 were Korean dramas. This year, the action drama '殺し屋たちの店' became the most viewed series in APAC, highlighting the popularity of Korean works. Japanese anime continues to gain popularity, with '東京リベンジャーズ' Season 2 and 'SAND LAND:THE SERIES', based on Akira Toriyama's work, receiving high support from viewers. Additionally, the travel reality show 'Are You Sure?!', featuring BTS's Jimin and Jungkook, became the most viewed variety show in APAC, achieving global popularity. Years later, they reunite amidst a conflict, targeting each other's lives while aiming to resolve the dispute. '捏造された都市', set in modern Korea, tells the story of a mild-mannered man, Tae-jun, wrongfully imprisoned for a crime he didn't commit. Suddenly, he finds himself in a twisted game to avoid prison, forced to comply with the man who framed him. '照明店の客人たち', set to stream on Disney+ on December 4, 2024, is a highly anticipated new work reuniting the production team of the award-winning 'ムービング'. Starring Ju Ji-hoon and Park Bo-young, it depicts the touching human mystery surrounding unusual customers visiting a dimly lit lighting shop in a dark alley. People wandering in a dark city, some of whom have lost part of their memories, find themselves in a world on the 'border of life and death'. Why did they arrive at this place? And can they return to their original world? Eventually, they are drawn to a lighting shop in an alley that holds the keys to their past, present, and future. The main cast includes Ju Ji-hoon, Park Bo-young, Ohm Tae-goo, and Lee Jung-eun. The script is by Jeong So-kyung, who collaborated with Kim Hee-won on 'シスターズ'. 'メイド・イン・コリア', featuring Hyun Bin and Jung Woo-sung, is a thrilling suspense series set in the tumultuous 1970s, revolving around two men: Ki-tae, who is consumed by greed for wealth and power, and prosecutor Gon-yeong, who is driven by a strong sense of justice and relentlessly pursues wrongdoing. The two men find themselves embroiled in a monumental incident that determines their fates. Hyun Bin, who gained fame as Ri Jeong-hyuk in '愛の不時着', and Jung Woo-sung, who starred in the box office hit '私の頭の消しゴム', play the lead roles. The script is by Park Eun-gyo, known for '静かなる海' and '母なる証明', and directed by Woo Min-ho, known for 'KCIA 南山の部長たち' and 'インサイダーズ/内部者たち'.
