Netflix's 'Wonder Fools' will be released in the second quarter of this year. Today (17th), Netflix clarified in relation to the report that the production announcement event for the new series 'Wonder Fools' will be held on May 12, stating, 'The release date and main schedule will be announced separately as soon as they are confirmed,' and 'As mentioned at the event 'Next on Netflix' held earlier this year, there is no change from the release in the second quarter.' The work is a comedic action adventure where seemingly solid but somewhat absent-minded townspeople, who accidentally gain superpowers in 1999 when apocalyptic theories were spreading, fight against villains threatening the peace of Hae-song City. The cast includes Park Eun-bin, ASTRO's Cha Eun-woo, Kim Hae-sook, Choi Deok-hoon, Lim Sung-jae, and Song Hyun-joo, and the production announcement will proceed with the cast except for Cha Eun-woo, who is currently serving in the military. Cha Eun-woo was investigated last year by the Seoul Regional Tax Office for tax evasion allegations, with a report of tax claims exceeding 20 billion won (about 20 million yen) including income tax. In relation to this, Cha Eun-woo's agency, Fantagio, commented, 'We feel a heavy responsibility regarding the controversy arising from matters related to our company and affiliated artists. The matters raised are currently in the stage of fact verification according to tax authorities' procedures, and both the agency and the artist are sincerely cooperating with the investigation within the necessary scope.' They also stated, 'If legal administrative judgments become clear in the future, we will responsibly carry out necessary measures according to the results. However, we sincerely request that excessive speculation and the spread of unverified information, as well as excessive interpretations regarding claims and suspicions raised from one corner, be restrained.' Following this incident, various speculations about the release date of 'Wonder Fools' have circulated, but the confirmation of the work's release has attracted the attention of drama fans.
