Park Jung-min, who appeared in the movie 'Humint', confessed that he was a fan of Shin Se-kyung. Recently, an interview was held with Park Jung-min, who starred in 'Humint', at a cafe in Sogyeok-dong, Jongno District, Seoul. The movie 'Humint' (director: Ryu Seung-wan) depicts a story where those with different purposes clash in Vladivostok, where secrets and truths are buried in the cold sea of ice. Jo In-sung plays the head of the National Intelligence Service of the Republic of Korea, Park Jung-min plays Park Gon, the chief of the North Korean Ministry of State Security, Park Hae-joon plays the North Korean consul in Vladivostok, Fan Jisung, and Shin Se-kyung plays Choi Seong-ha, an employee of a North Korean restaurant who becomes a 'humint' to survive. Recently, Park Jung-min, who has captured the hearts of many women, showcased a bittersweet romance with Shin Se-kyung in this work and aimed for an image change. Prior to this, he played a lover role with her in MAMAMOO's Hwasa's music video for 'Good Goodbye'. Last November, he performed a collaborative stage with Hwasa at the 46th Blue Dragon Film Awards. After the release of this stage, Hwasa's music ranked high on major music streaming charts, and Park Jung-min's visuals spread widely, garnering significant attention. Park Jung-min stated, 'In the past, I was so nervous before the release of a leading role that I couldn't sleep, but I have good memories of this work, so I just want people to enjoy it.' He added, 'I personally enjoyed it, so I think many people will enjoy watching it. I expect them to relax and enjoy it.' Park Jung-min, who showcased romance for the first time since his debut through this work, said, 'I originally liked romance movies and even cried while watching them, but I never thought I would make such a movie in my life. I thought it would be seen as 'unsuitable' or 'ugly', and I wanted to focus on the story I should tell. I didn't want to be criticized.' He continued, 'I thought romance was something that wouldn't exist in my acting career. In fact, I didn't think 'Humint' would be in that genre. Still, I don't think anyone would want to avoid romance, I just thought it didn't suit me.' When asked if expectations have risen since 'Humint' and the stage with Hwasa, he replied, 'Then I will consider it too (laughs). But I really haven't received many scripts like that.' He added, 'It would be a lie to say there were none at all, but it was about one out of fifteen. So there were few options. If there is a really interesting and good romance, I might do it and want to try it.' Regarding the stage with Hwasa, Park Jung-min said, 'I have never seen that stage. It's true.' He laughed and said, 'I know that video is all over the internet. It comes up in the algorithm, but I grit my teeth and try not to watch it.' Recently, he has been mentioned as an ideal type by many women, but he said, 'I don't think so. I really think it's a fleeting mirage that will disappear soon. The people around me were really excited.' He expressed, 'I feel like I became a star for something ridiculous after working hard (laughs). When people pay attention, those around me are happy. I don't feel like I should use that stage as a stepping stone to move on to another place. I am just grateful.' When asked if the reason he grits his teeth and doesn't watch is that it differs too much from the usual Park Jung-min, he replied, 'It's because the mindset at that time and the story interpreted by everyone are too different. I just did it (laughs). Hwasa sent me the practice video, and I just did it as it was. There was no intention behind it.' He added, 'All movies and novels depend on the interpretation of the viewer. I think it's not good to gaslight or distort myself while watching that video and saying, 'I did that, right?' So I want to leave it as it is. The interpretation is something you can do, and I don't want to add my interpretation while watching.' Earlier, Park Jung-min, who attended the VIP preview of 'Humint', said, 'I have been a fan of Shin Se-kyung since I was in the military, and my dream has come true.' In response, he said, 'At that time, it was a place created by the fans of Shin Se-kyung. So I said that, but it is true that I became a big fan after watching 'High Kick' in the military.' He also said, 'Shin Se-kyung has been a wonderful actress since she was young, and I always thought, 'Will I ever get to meet the actress Shin Se-kyung?' after watching 'High Kick'. I didn't really think I would meet her as a romantic partner. Fortunately, I was very happy to meet her.' Shin Se-kyung mentioned that she quickly opened her heart and became close to her colleagues on the set of 'Humint', but Park Jung-min said, 'That's what Shin Se-kyung herself said, but she doesn't seem to be the type to open her heart that quickly on set. She tends to keep her distance from staff and actors. But this time, it seems she enjoyed spending time with us. Maybe because we were in a foreign country for the shoot, she opened her heart faster and had fun. She liked us, so I was also relieved and happy. That's why I think we became close quickly.' Park Jung-min praised Shin Se-kyung, saying, 'Her concentration in front of the camera is amazing, and I thought, 'How can she do this?' She has an overwhelming power. I knew she was a wonderful actress, but I was really surprised to see that she had such power in front of the camera. You can't know that unless you meet her in person. I was really surprised to see it.'
