TREASURE directly introduced the main points of their new album, raising the heart rate of global fans to the maximum. TREASURE released their 3rd mini-album "LOVE PULSE" in August. The album includes four tracks: the title song "PARADISE," along with "EVERYTHING," "NOW FOREVER," and "BETTER THAN ME," intricately depicting various facets of love with their unique sensibility and vibrant energy. They attempted a distinctive transformation not seen in TREASURE's music before, adding a modern groove to a nostalgic retro mood. The members revealed, "This album will further expand TREASURE's spectrum. We hope to create relatable stories that feel familiar in a different color." -- It has been about six months since their comeback with the special mini-album "PLEASURE." What are your thoughts? Jun-kyu: Recently, we have shown a fresh sensibility with songs that differ from the traditional TREASURE, and this time we have incorporated change again. This album is filled with a new concept that we have never tried before in music, performance, and visuals, so we hope you look forward to it. Seo Jong-hwan: We worked hard preparing while imagining the joy of TREASURE MAKER (TREASURE's fans). I believe we have created a mini-album that will make fans happy, so I am excited. I think there will be many opportunities to meet directly in the future. I hope we can enjoy it together. -- Please introduce your 3rd mini-album "LOVE PULSE." Yoon Jae-hyuk: When you listen to the music, you will feel that the title "LOVE PULSE" is truly intuitive. As the words say, it is an album that raises the heartbeat. In one word, it is a "passionate confession to TREASURE MAKER." This is the first album that sings so passionately about love and happiness, and we hope our sincere hearts reach the fans. Park Jung-woo: While preparing for this album, I felt once again how colorful, complex, and subtle the emotion of love is. From pure and passionate confessions to the bittersweet moments of parting, we struggled to express it in a way that is uniquely TREASURE. The overall mood of the album is vintage and retro, but each of the four tracks has a distinct personality, making it enjoyable to listen to. -- Was there a particular aspect you focused on during preparation? Ji-hoon: I wanted to get closer to each individual in the public, as well as to the fans who support TREASURE. This time, we put a lot of effort not only into the title track but also into the included songs. We did several edits and many re-recordings, so I can say that the quality of the songs is high. We composed songs that can be enjoyed comfortably anytime, anywhere, so I hope you listen to them relaxedly. -- What charm did you incorporate into the title track "PARADISE"? Yoshi: The base is disco punk, a genre that TREASURE is challenging for the first time. With a fun beat that makes you want to move naturally and a brass sound that bursts out, I think you will feel like you are really in paradise. I thought it would fit well to sing live right away, and I believe we can show a perfect balance of vocals, rap, and performance on stage. Yoon Jae-hyuk: "PARADISE" is about spending time with a loved one being heaven, and it has a lively and romantic atmosphere. It feels like it tells you, "The sky full of stars, the cool breeze, and all the beautiful things in the world are our paradise," and it is a heartwarming song. I hope that everyone who listens to this song feels the excitement and happiness that love brings. -- What kind of performance can we expect on the stage for "PARADISE"? Doyoung: We prepared a performance that everyone can enjoy, matching the refreshing and lively atmosphere of the song. There are many intuitive expressions of the lyrics, and we maintained TREASURE's unique free-spirited and energetic vibe. In the final chorus, there will be parts where fans can sing and dance along, so I want to show it on stage soon. Haruto: Since the song lightly depicts the excitement and joy of falling in love, we paid close attention to our expressions. We practiced a lot to deliver bright and happy emotions as if we really came to paradise, so I hope you focus on that part as well. -- There is also a lot of interest in the music video. Are there any memorable shooting episodes or highlights? Ji-hoon: The story is about all TREASURE members going to paradise. It has a dreamy fantasy world theme, so there was a lot of chroma key shooting, and it was difficult to act while imagining what was not visible in the set studio, but it was mysterious and fun. The members' visuals are also incorporated beautifully, so please look forward to it. Asahi: Just like the title "PARADISE," I think there is fun in discovering beautiful scenes with surreal and beautiful landscapes. Also, there are solo cuts where each member's witty points stand out. I danced in front of a big moon, and I am happy that it turned out well because we had fun shooting it. -- Choi Hyun-seok, Yoshi, and Haruto also participated in rap-making this time. What message did you want to convey? Choi Hyun-seok: I wrote the rap parts for the title track "PARADISE" and the first track "EVERYTHING." Both songs are easy listening, so I wanted the rap to be easy to listen to as well. Without complex modifiers or decorations, I hope you can listen to the lyrics easily. Yoshi: Until now, we have tried to show a strong and charismatic side, but this time I thought about what kind of lyrics could excite the listeners according to the mood of the song. It was my first time writing rap to the disco punk genre, and it was fun to create something new. Haruto: We wrote it while imagining that we are in a paradise full of dreams and happiness. For some, reality may be harsh and painful, but I wanted to convey comfort to forget about those things for a while and have fun together in TREASURE's paradise. -- The pre-released choreography practice video for "EVERYTHING" has become a hot topic. Can you explain what kind of song it is? Jun-kyu: "EVERYTHING" was a candidate for the title track until the end, and it is a song with high completion and affection. We developed retro-based synth-pop in TREASURE's style, and at first listen, it may seem like just a bright and fun song, but the lyrics contain earnest feelings for someone you like, creating an unusual gap. Park Jung-woo: I was grateful that many people enjoyed watching the choreography practice video. "EVERYTHING" can be said to be the song where TREASURE's energy is most concentrated in this album. It has an atmosphere that TREASURE can digest well, and especially the chorus part is charming, making you want to burst out and play on stage right away. -- What about the other tracks, "NOW FOREVER" and "BETTER THAN ME"? Yoon Jae-hyuk: The third track "NOW FOREVER" is a song that combines addictive melodies with lyrical lyrics expressing the desire for this moment to last forever. It has a somewhat dreamy quality, and the part where we shout, "Forever, right now, forever ever" feels powerful and has a unique charm. Doyoung: "BETTER THAN ME" is my favorite track in this album. It is the only ballad with a quiet mood, making it impressive and more special since it is a mood that TREASURE has not shown much. Since it depicts the sadness after a breakup, I tried to understand and express the emotions delicately. -- They also hinted at continued activities in the second half of this year. What are your plans and goals for this activity? Asahi: I want to run strongly again to repay TREASURE MAKER, who always supports us sincerely. The most exciting thing is the concert. The moments of meeting fans directly and communicating through music are always thrilling and fun. We are also preparing hard for the stages of the songs from the 3rd mini-album "LOVE PULSE," so please show a lot of interest. Seo Jong-hwan: After the release, various contents are planned, including the performance video of the title track "PARADISE" and the music video for the included song "EVERYTHING." There are many things for fans to enjoy watching, so I am excited to see how much they will be delighted, and even though it is busy, it gives us energy.
