IU celebrated her debut anniversary on September 18 and conveyed warm feelings once again. Her agency, EDAM Entertainment, revealed today (18th) that "IU donated 200 million won (about 2.1 million USD) under the name 'IUAENA' (IU + UAENA, the name of her fans) on her debut anniversary." This donation will be used to support various socially vulnerable groups, including children with serious illnesses, the disabled, youth preparing for independence, and elderly living alone. The donation was made to the "Korea Disability Foundation," "Make-A-Wish Korea," "Heart Foundation," and "Korea Vulnerable Elderly Support Foundation," with each receiving 50 million won (about 530,000 USD). The "Korea Disability Foundation" supports the disabled, "Make-A-Wish Korea" supports children with serious illnesses, "Heart Foundation" supports youth preparing for independence, and the "Korea Vulnerable Elderly Support Foundation" provides necessary items to elderly living alone through its comprehensive support center, especially for the Chuseok holiday. On Children's Day, she donated 150 million won (about 1.5 million USD) for children and youth, and on her birthday, she donated 200 million won for socially vulnerable groups, continuing her good deeds. Recently, IU released a surprise new song "Bye, Summer" hoping it would be a special gift for her fans, which topped domestic and international charts and was mentioned in Forbes magazine. Additionally, her pop-up store "Found at Eight" is being held at The Hyundai Seoul, proving her enduring influence.
