It is believed that to reduce the income tax rate, which reaches 45%, an entity without substance was created to distribute income, applying a corporate tax rate that is more than 20 percentage points lower than the income tax rate. In fact, the initial location of corporation A was Ganghwa Island, which was also considered a factor in the judgment that it is unlikely to be engaged in entertainment-related business. Cha Eun-woo enlisted in July last year as a member of the Army Military Band and is currently serving. The Korean media that initially reported his allegations stated, "The National Tax Service sent a notification of the tax audit results containing such content after waiting for his enlistment to be completed at the request of Cha Eun-woo's side." Therefore, some believe that he enlisted to avoid controversy. However, Fantagio stated, "This case is primarily about whether the corporation established by Cha Eun-woo's mother qualifies as a substantial taxable entity, and it is not a case that has been finalized and announced. They also mentioned that the artist and tax representatives will cooperate sincerely to ensure that the relevant procedures are completed promptly.
