The new unit by SEVENTEEN's S.Coups and Mingyu announced their 1st mini-album 'HYPE VIBES' on September 29, which was released in Japan on September 30. It achieved 74,000 copies in first-day sales, debuting at No. 1 on the Oricon Daily Album Ranking. According to the Korean HANTEO chart, the album sold 600,575 copies on its first day (29th), ranking No. 1 on the daily album chart, setting a record for the highest first-day sales of a K-POP unit album. The two showed exceptional album power by achieving half a million sales simultaneously with the album release. The title track '5, 4, 3 (Pretty Woman) (feat. Lay Bankz)' ranked No. 1 in Spain, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Egypt immediately after release, entering the iTunes 'Top Songs' chart in 16 countries and regions. It also topped the real-time chart of the Korean streaming site Bugs. All songs from the album, including the title track, 'Fiesta', 'Worth it', 'For you', 'Young again', and 'Earth', charted on MelOn's 'Top 100'. The music video for the title track has also garnered attention, topping the 'YouTube Music Video Trending Worldwide' in Korea, Germany, Canada, and Indonesia, receiving enthusiastic reactions such as 'the hottest duo in the world', 'felt like watching a movie until the end credits', and 'retro and trendy'. The album name 'HYPE VIBES' signifies a hot and free atmosphere that anyone can enjoy and connect with. Their attitude of living in the moment with their own rhythm is embodied in this new mini-album. The title track '5, 4, 3 (Pretty Woman) (feat. Lay Bankz)' interpolates Roy Orbison's hit song 'Oh, Pretty Woman'. The lyrics express love feelings towards someone strongly attracted, harmonizing with a lively disco sound. S.Coups and Mingyu participated in writing and composing all six songs, completing the new album with their preferences and sensibilities. They will appear on Mnet's 'M COUNTDOWN' today (2nd) to debut the new song stage. Since September 30, a pop-up event celebrating the release of 'HYPE VIBES' has been held on the 6th floor of HDC I-Park Mall in Yongsan, Seoul.
