Today (24th), according to Samsung Seoul Hospital, Changmin donated 50 million won (about 500,000 USD) for child and adolescent patients who bear a heavy burden of treatment costs. This donation is planned to be used to alleviate the financial burden related to patients' treatment and rehabilitation. Changmin stated, 'I hope the children can spend a Christmas with smiles,' and commented, 'I wish to support the children fighting illness, hoping they can regain health as soon as possible and expand their dreams.' He has been consistently engaged in charitable activities for many years. In 2018, he became a member of the high-donor club 'Green Noble Club' of the Green Umbrella Children's Foundation, continuing to donate primarily to support vulnerable children. This club consists of supporters with cumulative donations of over 100 million won (about 1 million USD). In 2017, he supported children affected by the Pohang earthquake, and in 2019, he donated 70 million won (about 700,000 USD) to Greenpeace's Korean office for recovery from the Amazon fires and environmental surveys. That same year, he also donated 70 million won for forest restoration in areas affected by the Gangwon wildfires. In 2020, he supported families of vulnerable children affected by heavy rains, and in March of this year, he donated 50 million won to the Green Umbrella Children's Foundation for children starting the new school term. Regarding his reasons for donating, Changmin stated, 'I thought it was natural to give back a part of the profits I have earned from being loved so much to society,' and expressed his hope that such activities will spread and many people will participate in sharing.
