In July 2024, the musical "Crash Landing on You" will be performed at the New National Theatre Middle Theater. Studio Dragon, a leading studio in Korea, produced "Crash Landing on You," a love story that crosses the border between a South Korean chaebol heiress, Yoon Se-ri, who crash-landed in North Korea after a paragliding accident, and a North Korean military officer, Ri Jeong-hyeok. After airing in South Korea in December 2019, the musical gained significant popularity worldwide and continues to be popular even after four years. The musical was adapted in Korea in September 2022 and premiered in Japan in February 2024 due to high demand for performances in Japan. The talented cast's singing and acting received attention, leading to a speedy decision for a reprise. The original cast from the Japanese premiere will reunite for this reprise. The lead role of Ri Jeong-hyeok will be played by Yun Sa-na, the lead vocalist of ASTRO, a male idol group that debuted in Korea in 2016. Kim Ryo-won, who played the same role in the Korean production of "Crash Landing on You," will play Yoon Se-ri. Jin Jin from ASTRO will play Gu Seung-jun, and Chi So-young, the main vocalist of the female idol group Weki Meki, will play Seo Dan. The reprise will be performed with a single cast. Terry Kim (General Producer) Comment: After successfully completing the first world tour in Tokyo, we heard from those who were unable to attend that they are waiting for a reprise. While preparing for the reprise, thanks to the efforts of Fuji TV, we will be performing at a wonderful theater. The July performance will include parts that were not shown in the previous performance and modifications. We will strive to present a more polished work. Whether you are seeing the musical "Crash Landing on You" for the first time in the July performance or if you saw the February performance and want to see it again, we will do our best to make it an unforgettable performance. One of the themes of this work is "just one more step." We hope that everyone can get a little closer to each other in life by taking "just one more step."
