Paul Kim, a singer-songwriter who has worked on numerous hit songs and drama OSTs in Korea and enjoys overwhelming popularity as the “Prince of OSTs,” will release the digital single “I Tried Turning You into a Melody,” produced by Kohmi Hirose, on Wednesday, September 2, 2026. This work is a warm, classic ballad that likens the preciousness of the ordinary daily life with a lover to a “melody.” Furthermore, on the same release day, Wednesday, September 2, the long-awaited music video will be released. DXTEEN’s Ayuta Fukuda appears in the MV. As the story’s protagonist, he delivers a delicate performance that matches the world of the song, and it is finished as a work that stirs the hearts of viewers like a short film. ◆Comment from producer Kohmi Hirose When I first met him, I was moved by his gentle atmosphere, friendly smile, good looks, and above all his wonderful singing voice, and I impulsively asked, “Please let me produce you.” This time, I have written a classic ballad that lets you fully enjoy his one-and-only singing voice. The lyrics were also completed by layering each other’s feelings around the theme of “the preciousness of having an important person by your side.” The recording we did in Korea was wonderful from beginning to end, and I am convinced that this will be a song that will continue to be loved for a long time. ◆Comment from Paul Kim When I first heard it, I thought it was a really good song. It is difficult, but it is truly a wonderful melody. I practiced a lot for the recording, and I am still practicing for live performances now. The lyrics have a nostalgic feeling, and I really like that they also have an analog feel. It is a romantic song, so everyone, please listen to it. ◆Comment from Ayuta Fukuda Filming the MV was very fresh and fun. It was difficult because it was acting only with expressions and no lines, but because they kept playing this song in the studio the whole time, I was able to grasp the atmosphere and carefully film each scene one by one. I think I was able to express a slightly more mature, natural version of myself at 23. It was a very valuable day for me because it was the first time I appeared alone in someone else’s MV, not in our own group’s song, and it became an important song for me as well. I think we were able to shoot wonderful footage that matched the world of the song very well, so I can’t wait for it to be completed! ■Release information Digital single “I Tried Turning You into a Melody” Release / MV release date: Wednesday, September 2, 2026 Produced by: Kohmi Hirose MV appearance: Paul Kim / Ayuta Fukuda (DXTEEN) Label / Distribution: ME LABEL (Kohmi Hirose label, third installment) / Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and other major streaming services ■Related link Paul Kim Japan official X ■Release information Digital single “I Tried Turning You into a Melody” Release / MV release date: Wednesday, September 2, 2026 Produced by: Kohmi Hirose MV appearance: Paul Kim / Ayuta Fukuda (DXTEEN) Label / Distribution: ME LABEL (Kohmi Hirose label, third installment) / Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and other major streaming services ■Related link Paul Kim Japan official X
