Singer and producer R.Tee officially apologized regarding the plagiarism controversy of his new song music video. Today (17th), R.Tee stated through his official Instagram, 'First, I sincerely apologize for the delay in addressing this matter. I needed some time to better understand the situation and make responsible decisions.' He continued, 'I received feedback that the recently released music video for 'DAMDADI' is similar to the work of French artist Yseult, and upon reviewing the footage, I found that the production proceeded without any awareness of the existence of similar works, relying solely on the provided MV concept.' He added, 'I deeply feel that this incident occurred under my overall responsibility, and I sincerely apologize for the discomfort and disappointment it caused. Moving forward, I will ensure that all production processes are thoroughly examined and approached with caution, beyond just creating music.' He expressed, 'Above all, as a creator, I sincerely apologize to Yseult. I will contact her directly to convey my apologies and will reaffirm the ethics of respect among creators and artistic inspiration. I humbly accept the reprimands and criticisms for our negligence and will strive to convey the precious power of music correctly.' R.Tee's new song 'DAMDADI' features Soojin, the leader of i-dle. In relation to this, R.Tee stated, 'I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and trouble caused to Soojin and the staff from CUBE Entertainment who participated with pure musical enthusiasm. I want to clarify that Soojin had no involvement in the concept and direction decision process of this music video. I sincerely hope that accusations and misunderstandings towards the relevant artist do not spread any further.' Finally, he said, 'We will use this incident as an opportunity to strengthen our internal pre-verification of MVs and implement an external reference content review system.' He added, 'I take the responsibility for this incident seriously and have decided to immediately remove the music video for 'DAMDADI' from our official channel. We will thoroughly question the music video production team that undertook the relevant work and will take the lead in ensuring that such incidents do not occur again.' Previously, French singer Yseult posted, 'This kind of copy & paste makes me sick,' expressing her discomfort at being plagiarized. The director of Achilles Film, who was in charge of directing the 'DAMDADI' music video, acknowledged the similarity between the two music videos on the 14th through a statement, saying, 'It is true that we were inspired by Yseult's work and her directing style.'
