ILLIT has been appointed as the theme song artist for the TV anime "Hime-sama 'Goumon' no Jikan desu" and is making strides. Today (the 3rd), it was announced that ILLIT will be responsible for the opening theme of the TV anime "Hime-sama 'Goumon' no Jikan desu" Season 2, scheduled to air from January 2026. The TV anime "Hime-sama 'Goumon' no Jikan desu" is based on the popular work serialized in Shueisha's "Shonen Jump+" titled "Hime-sama 'Goumon' no Jikan desu" (original work by Haruhara Robinson / manga by Hirakei), a fantasy anime about the world's gentlest 'torture' filled with delicious meals and fun play, presented with humor. The first season aired from January to March 2024, and due to its response, the second season's broadcast has been decided, attracting attention. ILLIT, upon being selected as the theme song artist, expressed, "It is a great honor to serve as the opening theme for a TV anime loved by many in Japan. We are really looking forward to seeing what kind of chemical reaction will occur between the world of the work and the song. We would be happy if ILLIT's music reaches more people along with the anime." They hope for expectations regarding the details of the song's completion. ILLIT debuted with their 1st mini-album "SUPER REAL ME" in March 2024. The title track "Magnetic" recorded a global hit, breaking various charts' records for K-POP debut songs, including surpassing 600 million streams on Spotify in the shortest time. Their first original Japanese song "Almond Chocolate," released in February this year, was used as the theme song for the movie "I Won't Fall in Love Just Because of Looks" starring Miyase Rumi, achieving an unusual long hit for a K-POP group's original Japanese song. They made their long-awaited Japanese debut with their 1st single "Toki yo Tomare" on September 1, and the title track was used as the theme song for the new ABEMA program "Popteen vs egg MODELS CRUSH," while the track "Topping" was featured in a web commercial for the new collection of Lacoste's 2025 domestic sneaker campaign, where ILLIT serves as an ambassador. They are set to make a comeback in Korea with their 1st single "NOT CUTE ANYMORE" on November 24, and the unique theme of "not cute anymore" has already garnered attention. They plan to release concept photos for "NOT CUTE" and "NOT MY NAME" versions on November 10 and 12, respectively, followed by a moving poster for the MV on the 17th, and MV teaser videos on the 21st and 23rd, with the long-awaited single and MV being released at 6 PM on the 24th. From the striking debut of "Magnetic," ILLIT has built up numerous achievements and records. It will be interesting to see what kind of synergy they will show with the TV anime "Hime-sama 'Goumon' no Jikan desu."
