
Kep1er has signed a new contract for the first time as a project group with Mnet. Today (30th), WAKEONE・SWING Entertainment announced that they have agreed to extend the group activities for Chae Yu Jin, Xiaoting, Kim Che Hyun, Kim Da Yeon, Higaru Ezaki, Hyunin Bahie, So Yeong Eun, who are currently active as Kep1er. As a result, Kep1er will continue their activities with 7 members even after the project group activities end. Maika Sakamoto and Kang Ye So will release their 1st full album "Kep1going On" on June 3rd and their last activity as Kep1er will be a Japanese concert in July. WAKEONE・SWING Entertainment stated that they have had long discussions with the members' agencies about the future activities of Maika Sakamoto and Kang Ye So, but ultimately decided to end their activities as Kep1er. They expressed their gratitude to Maika Sakamoto and Kang Ye So for giving their best in all activities as Kep1er for 2 years and 6 months, and will continue to support them. Kep1er will release their first full album "Kep1going On" on June 3rd, accelerating their activities in Korea. They will then hold a concert at the 20,000-seat K-Arena Yokohama in July to meet their Japanese fans. WAKEONE・SWING Entertainment expressed their expectations for the first and last full album to be performed by the complete 9-member Kep1er, and stated that they will actively support not only Kep1er's activities in the future, but also the musical growth of each member. Kep1er is a group formed through Mnet's "Girls Planet 999: Girls Festival" broadcast in Korea in 2021. Their debut song "WA DA DA" won first place on a terrestrial music program just 12 days after their debut. They also captivated about 30,000 fans in Japan with their first fan concert tour "FLY-HIGH" which ended in March, and achieved good results with their first Japanese album "<Kep1going>" released on May 8th, demonstrating their strength as a global artist representing K-POP.
