This month's girl (LOONA) Eve takes her first step as a solo artist. She held a showcase for her 1st EP "LOOP" at ILCHI Art Hall in Gangnam, Seoul today (29th) and talked about her work. Eve, who debuted as a member of LOONA in 2017, won a lawsuit against her former agency last year and signed an exclusive contract with label PAIX PER MIL in March this year. She expressed her thoughts, saying, "I am very nervous and burdened as it has been 6 years and 6 months since I debuted solo under my own name, but the excitement is also great, so I want to enjoy it." Her 1st EP "LOOP" is packed with four tracks that reflect her exploration of herself, breaking free from the loop of predetermined rules that she had been conforming to. Despite being immature and clumsy, her bold and honest musical world has been completed. The title track "LOOP (feat. Lil Cherry)" is a song that expresses the desire to break free from the monotonous daily routine with a rhythmic alternative beat. The song was created after many conversations and worries with the agency's representative, MILIC, and features Lil Cherry, a rapper with a unique flow, to create a musical synergy with Eve. Eve explained, "There were several candidates, but I thought the music format that draws you in from the intro was the most like me. I thought this should be the title track." Eve revealed that she decided to pursue solo activities instead of group activities because she wanted to have personal and honest conversations, and her members supported her decision. She chose to join the agency PAIX PER MIL because she wanted an image change and was moved by MILIC's music during discussions. She expressed her affection for LOONA, saying, "LOONA is like my hometown to me." Other members supported her solo debut, with Hyejin jokingly saying, "Unnie, you're originally good at it," which helped ease her nerves. She shared that the group members and director Jung Byunggi also sent messages of support. Eve's goal for this activity is to evolve from "This month's girl" to "This year's girl" and become a solo artist who shines this year.
BLACKPINK's Rosé achieved first place with her collaboration "APT." on MBC's music show, surpassing aespa and G-DRAGON. Other K-pop groups like NCT DREAM, ATEEZ, and ENHYPEN also made comebacks with new songs showcasing their unique styles and themes. The broadcast featured performances from various artists, highlighting the vibrant K-pop scene.
LOONA's Eve raises expectations for solo debut with refreshing visuals in second concept photo for EP "LOOP" released on agency's YouTube channel. The album, featuring 4 tracks including title song "LOOP (feat. Lil Cherry)," will be released on various music platforms on the 29th at 6 PM.
