Actor Chung Kyung-ho revealed the process of preparing for the character in 'Pro Bono.' On the afternoon of the 2nd, an online production presentation for tvN's new weekend drama 'Pro Bono' (script: Moon Yoo-seok, directed by Kim Sung-yoon) was held. 'Pro Bono' is a human courtroom drama filled with happenings that unfolds when a judge obsessed with promotion unexpectedly becomes a public interest lawyer and gets trapped in a room of a zero-revenue public interest team in a large law firm. Chung Kyung-ho plays the role of Kang Da-wit, a public interest lawyer from a judge background. When asked if he paid attention to details for the character who transitions from a celebrity judge to a public interest lawyer, he explained, 'Kang Da-wit is quite different from me, Chung Kyung-ho. I thought if I acted in ways I don't usually do, I might look like Kang Da-wit. He likes to be seen by others and wants to create topics. I met with the scriptwriter and director before the first shoot to create the character's atmosphere.' He revealed that he received help from the scriptwriter Moon Yoo-seok, who is also a former judge, during the filming process. Chung Kyung-ho said, 'I have played many professions that start with 'sa' (士,師,事 in Korean). I have played a doctor, lecturer, labor attorney, and detective. In other works, I had an advisor, but this time, since Kang Da-wit is a judge, the scriptwriter was there to observe everything closely, which made it easier. I could ask directly.' When the host Park Kyung-rim asked, 'There are still professions like pharmacist and real estate agent left. What 'sa' profession would you like to try next?' Chung Kyung-ho answered, 'I have never played a Chosun-saja (death god),' eliciting laughter. He also drew attention by reacting sensitively to the word 'date' during the presentation. When Park Kyung-rim asked, 'Kang Da-wit is a 'topic maker' in the drama. So, as a topic maker, do you have anything to announce here?' Chung Kyung-ho replied, 'No.' Even at the end of the conference, when the same topic was brought up, he again said, 'I can't think of anything.' Then, director Kim Sung-yoon jokingly mentioned, 'Just the date would be fine.' In response, Chung Kyung-ho seemed flustered, as if aware of his long-term public relationship with Girls' Generation's Sooyoung, saying, 'What date!? Don't say strange things.' When Kim Sung-yoon clarified 'the premiere date,' he mentioned both the premiere date of 'Pro Bono' and his birthday, eliciting laughter. The new tvN weekend drama 'Pro Bono' will start airing in Korea on December 6 at 9:10 PM.
