Mnet's 'UNPRETTY RAP STAR' has teamed up with producers like i-dle's Soyeon, Dynamic Duo's Gaeko, RIEHATA, and Takahiro Iwata. 'UNPRETTY RAP STAR: HIP POP Princess' (hereafter 'HIP POP Princess') is a new Japan-Korea collaboration project for the birth of a hip-hop girl group. Aiming for the birth of a new global hip-hop girl group, participants will express their unique colors while participating in all processes such as music, dance, styling, and video production. In this process, they will create a growth story through not only competition but also collaboration. In particular, through hip-hop as a medium, the different cultures of Korea and Japan will collide and fuse, giving participants the opportunity to create a new culture and grow as unique artists. To this end, a luxurious lineup of main producers representing each field will participate, creating synergy. First, i-dle's Soyeon has been selected as the main producer and MC leading the show. She returns as the MC of the newly renewed 'HIP POP Princess,' showcasing a strong presence through Mnet's 'UNPRETTY RAP STAR,' the first female rapper survival program in Korea. Beyond being a simple MC, she will participate as a role model and trusted mentor for the participants, guiding them to find their own identity. Gaeko, an artist representing the Korean hip-hop scene, has also confirmed his participation as a main producer, completing a lineup that combines musicality and popularity. As a member of Dynamic Duo, he has contributed significantly to the popularization of Korean hip-hop with numerous hit songs. His curiosity about what gems he will discover is piqued. From Japan, RIEHATA and Takahiro Iwata have joined the lineup of main producers. RIEHATA, a global choreographer and dancer who has worked with artists both domestically and internationally, recently appeared on Mnet's 'WORLD OF STREET WOMAN FIGHTER' as the leader of the RHYTHMICOOL CREW. Recognized for her differentiated directing skills, she will focus on discovering the next generation of artists as the main producer of 'HIP POP Princess.' Additionally, Takahiro Iwata, a member of Sandaime J Soul Brothers and active as a solo artist, joins the project, attracting attention. He is a multi-artist who has shown versatility as an actor in various works such as 'Perfect World: The Miracle of Being with You' and the 'HiGH&LOW' series, and is expected to lead the growth of the participants as a main producer. The production team of 'HIP POP Princess' stated, 'The top producers representing different fields have come together. We hope for much interest and expectation for the activities of the four main producers who will lead the newly written growth story.' Participants with unique identities from hip-hop, K-POP, and J-POP will challenge themselves in this Japan-Korea collaboration survival show 'UNPRETTY RAP STAR: HIP POP Princess,' which will premiere on Mnet on October 16 and will be simultaneously distributed in Japan through U-NEXT.
