Showtaro of RIIZE is gathering attention for his good deeds. The UNICEF Korean Committee (Chairman Jeong Gap-yong) revealed that Showtaro, who celebrates his birthday today (25th), donated 25 million won (about 2.66 million yen) under the name of RIIZE's fan club BRIIZE to support the healthy growth of children around the world. Showtaro, who started his support in commemoration of 'World Children's Day' on November 20, turned 25 on the 25th and made the donation. Showtaro's warm heart is expected to be used for UNICEF's core projects that prioritize support in areas and sectors where assistance is most urgently needed, such as health, nutrition, drinking water and sanitation, education, protection, and emergency relief. Showtaro stated, 'I wanted to respond to the support from BRIIZE, so I decided to donate on my birthday. I want to share love and happiness in various places as I have received so much love. It’s a small effort, but I would be happy if it helps someone.' UNICEF Korean Committee Secretary-General Cho Mi-jin expressed heartfelt gratitude to Showtaro for practicing meaningful sharing for children around the world on his birthday, stating that the warm heart and good influence he delivered would become a great hope and courage for children around the world who are going through tough days. Previously, Showtaro had donated to support children and refugees affected by the Turkey-Syria earthquake in February 2023, and since September, he has been participating in the 'UNICEF Team' campaign, planned to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the social contribution agreement between the UNICEF Korean Committee and SM Entertainment, expanding his positive influence.
