A variety of artist tours are planned for the second half of the year, and the strong performance in the performance sector is expected to continue. Sales in the album and music source sector were 228.6 billion won, a slight decrease of 8.4% year-on-year. Despite a general decline in K-POP album sales in recent years, stable performance has been maintained. In the album sector, BTS's Jin achieved 3rd place on the Billboard 200 with his second mini-album "Echo." SEVENTEEN recorded the highest album sales in Korea for the first half of the year with their 5th album "HAPPY BURSTDAY" celebrating their 10th anniversary. ENHYPEN's 6th mini-album "DESIRE: UNLEASH" achieved double million-seller status in its first week and ranked 3rd on the Billboard 200. BOYNEXTDOOR updated their career high with the 4th EP "No Genre," and ILLIT charted on the Billboard 200 with their 3rd mini-album "bomb," achieving the remarkable feat of having all albums released since their debut rank on the global main charts. In June, the J-POP boy group aoen debuted, and their debut single "Aoi Taiyou (The Blue Sun)" topped the Oricon daily single ranking. The global market performance of music sources has also been remarkable. Jin and J-HOPE's new songs "Don't Say You Love Me" and "Killin' It Girl" ranked on Billboard's main chart "Hot 100." The global girl group KATSEYE had two songs from their EP "BEAUTIFUL CHAOS" chart on the Billboard "Hot 100" within a year of their debut, receiving positive responses across Latin and European markets. Artists under Big Machine Label Group have also proven the power of music sources, with Thomas Rhett receiving the "RIAA Diamond" certification, the highest grade in the U.S. music source industry, and Riley Green's "Worst Way" reaching 1st place on the U.S. country radio airplay chart. Indirect participation sales from MD and licensing, content, and fan club sales reached 257.8 billion won. Among these, the MD and licensing sector recorded 152.9 billion won, a 40% increase year-on-year, driven mainly by tour MD and support items related to artist tours, as well as sales of character products utilizing intellectual property rights (IP). The fan club sector also achieved a record high of 34.6 billion won, a 46% increase year-on-year. Weverse recorded an average of 10.9 million monthly active users (MAU), showing steady growth. In particular, in June, when all BTS members returned, it recorded a peak of 12 million MAU. Additionally, the participation of popular artists in Japan, such as Mrs. GREEN APPLE and Shingo Katori, contributed to the overall increase in Weverse's MAU. Supported by the active activities of various artists, the total payment amount for Weverse in this quarter increased by 41% compared to the previous quarter.
