The 38th Golden Disc Awards announced the candidates for each category. The Golden Disc Awards office opened the official website at 2 pm on the 4th and announced the candidates for the main categories such as digital sound sources and album awards for the 38th Golden Disc Awards with mandiri. The candidates were judged based on the sound sources and albums released from mid-November last year to early November 2023, and were selected by quantitative evaluation (evaluating objectively by quantifying data). The sound sources and albums excluded from the candidates due to overlapping with the previous year's deadline are included in this year's evaluation. In the digital sound source award category, candidates include (G)I-DLE, aespa, AKMU, DK, FIFTY FIFTY, H1-KEY, IVE, LE SSERAFIM, NCT DREAM, NewJeans, STAYC, Park Jeong, the unit of SEVENTEEN, Woody, Im Yeongun, BTS's Jungkook and Jimin, BLACKPINK's Jisoo, BIGBANG's SOL. In the album award category, 20 groups including (G)I-DLE, aespa, Agust D (BTS's SUGA), ATEEZ, ENHYPEN, EXO, ITZY, IVE, LE SSERAFIM, NCT, NCT 127, NCT DREAM, NMIXX, Stary Kids, TREASURE, TWICE, ZEROBASEONE, SEVENTEEN, Jungkook, TOMORROW X TOGETHER are nominated. The candidates for the Rookie Award, which can only be won once in a lifetime, are selected by combining the amount of sound source usage and album sales. BOYNEXTDOOR, EVNNE, FIFTY FIFTY, PLAVE, RIIZE, xikers, ZEROBASEONE, LUN8, n.SSign, and Fan Yeongun are nominated. The "38th Golden Disc Awards with mandiri" will be held at the Jakarta International Stadium in Indonesia on January 6, 2024. This is the 5th time the event is held overseas. Following the 26th in Japan, the 27th in Malaysia, the 29th in China, and the 37th in Thailand, it is preparing to meet global fans again. The awards ceremony will be broadcast live on JTBC2 and JTBC4 in Korea, and delayed broadcast on JTBC. ASTRO's Cha Eunwoo will make his first attempt as the MC for the 38th Golden Disc Awards!
