Additionally, BOYNEXTDOOR became the first 5th generation boy group from Korea to win the 'Rookie Award', achieving this remarkable feat less than a year and a half after their Japanese debut. ILLIT expressed their joy about the award through their label BELIFT LAB, stating, 'We are truly happy to receive such an honorable award for two consecutive years, winning Rookie of the Year last year and Excellence Award this year. They debuted in March last year with their hit song 'Magnetic' and won 'Rookie of the Year' at the 66th Japan Record Awards. With this, ILLIT became the first K-POP girl group to win both the 'Rookie Award' and 'Excellence Award'. Furthermore, it is also the first time a K-POP group's original song has won the 'Excellence Award' at the Japan Record Awards. Regarding their win of the 'Special International Music Award', &TEAM commented, 'As a group that started from Japan, we are very honored to receive the 'Special International Music Award' at the Japan Record Awards.
