
Stray Kids’ Bang Chan donated 300 million won (about 33 million yen) today, his birthday. His agency, JYP Entertainment, announced on the 3rd, “Bang Chan celebrated his birthday and delivered a total of 300 million won in donations, giving 100 million won (about 10 million yen) each to the incorporated association Hear Cycle, the NGO World Vision, and the incorporated association East Asia Ocean Community OSEAN.” In September as well, Bang Chan donated a total of 200 million won (about 20 million yen), giving 100 million won each to Seoul Rehabilitation Hospital and UNICEF Korea Committee for the construction of a specialized rehabilitation center and for recovery from the major floods in Nepal. Adding this birthday donation to that, he has made donations totaling 500 million won (about 50 million yen) this year alone, serving as a model for many people. His donations are scheduled to be used by Hear Cycle for hearing medical expenses and social reintegration support for hearing-impaired teenagers, by World Vision for the “Dream Scholarship” project and growth support for children and youth from low-income households and socially vulnerable backgrounds, and by OSEAN for coastal cleanup, marine debris collection projects, and river cleanup activities. Bang Chan said, “From children’s dreams to the land where we live, it is meaningful that I was able to deliver even a little of my feelings to various fields that need help. I hope my feelings reach places that need help and help everyone dream of a better tomorrow together.”
