The webtoon 'Summer Moon: The Cupris' (hereafter 'Summer Moon'), a collaboration with ILLIT and an original story by HYBE, will begin serialization in six regions worldwide, including Japan and the United States. HYBE announced that 'Summer Moon' will be translated into the languages of Japan, the United States, Taiwan, Thailand, and Indonesia, and will be published through NAVER WEBTOON's global service on October 20 and 21 (local time). In Japan, it will start distribution on LINE Manga from October 21 (Tuesday) at 0:00, with new episodes updated every Tuesday at 0:00 thereafter. Prior to Japan, it will be released in the United States, Taiwan, and Thailand starting October 20, and in Indonesia on the same day as Japan (all local time). Additionally, expansion into France is planned for November. 'Summer Moon' depicts the chaotic daily lives of five ordinary high school girls who become 'magical girls' before the 'Summer Moon Festival' held at their school. The webtoon brings to life ILLIT's messages that have captivated teenage and young adult readers with a straightforward and bold sensibility, featuring magical girl characters inspired by the members. Since its release in Korea, it has received a strong response not only from fans but also from many webtoon readers. 'Summer Moon', which started distribution in Korea on August 4, 2025, recorded 2nd place in the female category and 3rd overall in NAVER WEBTOON's 'Top 30 Rising Stars' chart immediately after its release, as well as achieving high rankings in the 'Real-Time New Releases' chart. Due to the high level of interest in this anticipated work and the influx of requests from overseas users for multilingual official serialization, a simultaneous launch in six regions worldwide was decided. HYBE commented, 'The enthusiastic support we received from readers at the time of 'Summer Moon's' domestic launch in Korea has been the driving force behind the rapid progress of this global expansion. We recognize that the expectations from readers who have already experienced HYBE's original stories through series like 'DARK MOON' have led to interest in 'Summer Moon.' In the future, we will maximize the synergy between artists and stories and fully utilize the know-how we have accumulated in content expansion to provide fans with new entertainment content that can be enjoyed from multiple angles, centered around story IP.'
