At the "Blue Dragon Film Awards", "Shikatanai" shone with the honor of winning 6 crowns, including Best Picture, and the couple Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin also achieved 2 crowns each, bringing home a total of 4 trophies. Yesterday (19th), the "46th Blue Dragon Film Awards" was held at KBS Hall in Yeouido, Yeongdeungpo District, Seoul. The MCs were Han Ji-min and Lee Je-hoon. This year's judging targets were 154 Korean films released between October 11, 2024, and October 7, 2025. After selecting the first candidates through a survey of film industry personnel and votes from internet users, the winners and award-winning works were determined by 8 judges and votes from internet users. On this day, "Shikatanai" won trophies in 6 categories, including Best Picture, Best Director (Park Chan-wook), Best Actress (Son Ye-jin), Best Supporting Actor (Lee Sung-min), Best Music (Cho Yong-wook), and Best Technical Award (Cho Sang-kyung). The representative of the production company Moho Film, Baek Ji-sung, who won Best Picture, stated, "As many of you may know, it took Director Park Chan-wook 20 years to complete 'Shikatanai'." He added, "As Moon So-ri said, the recent film industry seems to be quite shrinking. I hope that many filmmakers will gain hope and courage by watching 'Shikatanai', which took 20 years to complete." The lead actor awards were jointly received by the couple Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin. This is the first time the couple has won at the "Blue Dragon Film Awards" simultaneously, and they also won the Jung Jung-won Popular Star Award, achieving a remarkable feat of 2 crowns together. It has been 6 years since Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin last won together, which was for the 2019 drama "Crash Landing on You". Son Ye-jin, who won Best Actress, reflected, "It has been 7 years since I appeared in a film. When Director Park Chan-wook invited me, I was very excited, but I also had concerns about whether I could do it well." She further expressed, "After getting married and becoming a mother, I feel that my emotions and worldview have changed. I really want to become a wonderful adult. And while continuing to grow, I want to be a wonderful actress who is by everyone's side." Hyun Bin, who played Ahn Jung-geun in "Harbin", stated, "Being able to live in my own country and be here today is thanks to many who dedicated themselves and sacrificed for the country." He expressed the significance of receiving the Best Actor award. He also shared, "I am happy to share with the audience the values we must protect and the history we must not forget through this film." The couple was captured in a touching moment as they embraced when their names were called, gazing at each other with affection from the audience. During their acceptance speeches, they expressed their love for each other. Son Ye-jin said, "I want to share this joy with the two people I love from the bottom of my heart, Kim Tae-pyeong (Hyun Bin's real name) and our child," to which Hyun Bin responded, "I want to say thank you to my wife, Son Ye-jin, who is a great source of strength just by being here, and I love our child very much." Son Ye-jin made a heart gesture with both hands in response to Hyun Bin's words. On this day, Director Park Chan-wook was overseas, so Lee Sung-min accepted the Best Director award on his behalf and read his remarks. Director Park commented, "This is the result of a dream I had since I first read the original novel of 'Shikatanai' 20 years ago. I cannot express how happy and full my heart is to have realized this story as a Korean film." He added, "I am most happy to have worked with actors and staff who achieved more than I imagined," and said, "I tried to create a film that, while initially feeling simple and comedic, increases in complexity and tragedy with each viewing." Park Ji-hyun, who won Best Supporting Actress for "Secret Face", received her award with tears in her eyes. She reflected, "Seven years ago, I came here as a candidate for the Rookie Award with 'Gonjiam'. At that time, I was filled with a mysterious feeling just being there, and I was doing my best to look around at the senior actors and directors." She further expressed, "I am very happy that there are colleagues I know and supporters here today. I feel truly happy to be able to be here with those who won awards and spread their works, and I once again feel that I really love movies." Lee Sung-min, who won Best Supporting Actor, said, "Whenever I was nominated, I would hesitate to prepare an acceptance speech, but this time I really couldn't prepare one. I am very grateful to receive this award in a way that I shouldn't have originally received it." He candidly shared his surprise at winning and made the audience laugh by saying, "Actually, I thought Park Hee-soon would win. I'm sorry that Hee-soon couldn't win. Thank you, Hee-soon, and I'm sorry." The Jung Jung-won Popular Star Award was given to a total of 4 people, 2 each for men and women. Among them, one male and one female were selected 100% by the Celeb Champ vote, while the remaining two were decided based on the combined results of the Celeb Champ vote and votes from the Sports Chosun reporters and expert groups. This year's winners of the Jung Jung-won Popular Star Award were GOT7's Jinyoung from "High Five", Hyun Bin from "Harbin", Son Ye-jin from "Shikatanai", and Girls' Generation's Yoona from "The Devil Who Moved In". Jinyoung cheerfully stated, "Today is my first time, but I want to become a popular star who can win 2 or 3 times like my senior Koo Kyo-hwan. Although I missed the Rookie Award, I am grateful for the Popular Award. Thank you to all the fans as well." Yoona expressed her joy, saying, "I am very happy to receive the Popular Award for my role as Seon-ji in 'The Devil Who Moved In', which I love very much. Above all, I would like to thank those who voted hard for me." Son Ye-jin shared, "Today is also a day I will never forget. I am truly honored to receive a wonderful Popular Award with my husband." Hyun Bin revealed, "The last time we received an award together was for the drama 'Crash Landing on You'. And today, I am very happy to stand on stage again with a trophy together." Kim Do-young, a former Weki Meki member, won the Rookie Actress Award for "Ameba Girls and School Ghost Stories: School Opening Anniversary". She expressed her heartfelt gratitude, saying, "I debuted as an idol. At that time, many fans liked me for singing and dancing on stage. And now, I am truly grateful that they continue to support me as I act." Ahn Bo-hyun, who won the Rookie Actor Award for "The Devil Who Moved In", shared his joy, saying, "Today is my father's birthday, and I feel like I received a really special present. I haven't been able to contact him for a long time, but I will definitely reach out. And to my grandmother, who is not feeling well... Grandma, I won an award! I will definitely deliver this award to Busan." Additionally, "In Our Day" won the Jung Jung-won Short Film Award. "Shikatanai" also won the Music Award and Technical Award for Cho Yong-wook and Cho Sang-kyung, respectively. Lee Nagyeom won the Art Award for "War and Chaos", Nam Nayoung won the Editing Award for "High Five", Hong Gyeong-pyo and Park Jeong-woo won the Cinematography and Lighting Award for "Harbin", and Kim Hyun-joo and Yoon Jeong-bin won the Screenplay Award for "Seungbu: The Two Chess Players".
