ILLIT's new original Japanese song has unveiled its veil. It was announced that ILLIT will release their 3rd digital single "Bubee," which is the opening theme song for the TV anime "Magical Sisters Lulut Lily," scheduled to air from April 5, 2026, at midnight on April 6. Along with this, the digital cover has been released, and some audio sources have been made available on various social media. The released digital cover incorporates ILLIT's unique magical girl sensibility. The song expresses a sparkling atmosphere visually, creating a dreamy and mysterious vibe. "Bubee" is a dance-pop song that fuses the essence of Shibuya subculture with J-POP feel, produced by a strong lineup. Following the song "Topping" from their 1st single "Time, Stop," the lyrics are written by the new generation singer-songwriter noa, who has been creating buzz on TikTok with songs like "All-Directional Beautiful Girl." Additionally, the popular choreographer Sako Makita, known for hits like M!LK's "Too Much Love!" and CUTIE STREET's "Isn't It Enough to Be Cute?" and with over 15 billion total views on TikTok, participated in creating the choreography for the SNS challenge. The song "Bubee" is themed around enjoying challenges with friends, lovers, or family, inspired by the song's name "Buddy," and can be arranged to match the chemistry of pairs. With the synergy of the "short-form powerhouse" ILLIT, it is expected to take the trend by storm again. The TV anime "Magical Sisters Lulut Lily," for which "Bubee" serves as the theme song, is the latest installment in the Studio Pierrot's "Magical Girl Series," which continues to be supported by many fans both domestically and internationally. Past works include "Magical Angel Creamy Mami," and this marks the first anime adaptation in about 28 years since 1998. ILLIT was also selected as the theme song artist for the TV anime "Your Highness's 'Torture' Time" aired in January this year, with the opening theme "Sunday Morning" entering the top 10 of the Oricon "Daily Digital Single Ranking" (as of January 13) and achieving first place on music distribution services like iTunes, AWA, mu-mo, and mora. Expectations are high for this new song, which is also tied to an anime.
