Singer IU's management agency apologized for excessive disclosure requests related to concert ticket fraud and announced the abolition of the system. EDAM Entertainment, to which IU belongs, apologized through the official fan community on the 9th, stating that they apologize to the fans who were affected by the excessive disclosure procedures due to the ticket fraud related to IU's 2024 Seoul solo concert. They also apologized to the fans who always support the artist and to the artist herself who was disappointed and hurt by this incident. They announced the complete abolition of the "Reward System" for the "Ticket Fraud Policy (Secret Agent System)" and strengthening of the internal monitoring team for fraudulent transactions and premium ticket sales. They explained that they will improve the disclosure procedures if necessary, instead of the previous excessive disclosure procedures. The Secret Agent System is a system that rewards fans who report fraudulent transactions with tickets. The agency does not consider ticket sales without financial transactions as fraudulent transactions, recognizes the need for improvement in child and adolescent audience identification procedures, and aims to improve by referring to various cases of other companies. They also mentioned improving the "IU Official Fan Club Permanent Exclusion System" and establishing criteria for application after detailed internal investigation and discussion. They expressed their commitment to system reform and problem awareness, striving for prevention of recurrence and continuous improvement based on fan feedback.
