THE BOYZ’s Sangyeon showed off his deep affection for the group and his fans. The lifestyle magazine Singles released a pictorial and interview with Sangyeon, who completed his military service, today (the 17th). Sangyeon spoke frankly about THE BOYZ, the fans THE B, and his activities after discharge. Sangyeon named “THE BOYZ” as the most important thing to him. He said that even during his military service, he often thought about the group, and stated, “The goals for me and the members are the same. We want to become more successful, and we want to do better.” He conveyed his desire to move forward together with the members. He also revealed that whenever they faced difficulties, the members tried to overcome them by communicating with one another. Even with busy schedules, they made time to talk, and the members gathered on the day Sangyeon was discharged. Sangyeon looked back on the nine years he spent working as THE BOYZ’s leader as “the process of one person maturing.” He said that he became stronger while experiencing both good and painful things together, and stated that the group’s goals will not change from here on either, saying, “From now on, I want to believe that only good things will happen and move forward.” Even during his military service, his feelings about activities did not change. Sangyeon said he strongly felt, “I want to get back to work quickly,” and revealed that even on days off he was making songs, doing dance training, and exercising. He is currently working hard on performance practice for the fan meeting stage. He said, “The one thing I can say for sure is that I love my job.” As the first person he wanted to meet after discharge, he named the fans, “THE B.” Sangyeon said he wants to share everything that has happened so far with the fans and show them various sides of himself that he has never shown before. He continued, “I just want to say thank you for being by my side,” and added, “I plan to go see THE B much more often from now on, as if filling in the time we could not meet.” He also spoke about his plans after entering his 30s. Sangyeon said that unlike the freshness of his 20s, he wants to show a slightly more mature charm in his 30s, but added, “Just as myself.” He plans to continue activities at his own pace while achieving goals one by one. Born in 1996, Sangyeon debuted as THE BOYZ in 2017. As the group’s leader and main vocalist, he was loved for songs such as “THRILL RIDE” and “MAVERICK.” In 2024, he also appeared in the musicals Crash Landing on You and BLOODY LOVE, and worked as a musical actor. • THE BOYZ’s Sangyeon discharged today (9/16)!
