IZ*ONE-originated Kwon Eunbi makes her acting debut in Japan. She was cast as the heroine in the movie "I dropped my smartphone, but the final chapter, the final hacking game," scheduled to be released in Japan in the fall of 2024. Expectations are also high for her co-starring with Narita Ryo, who plays the serial killer Ura, and Chiba Yudai, who plays the detective Kaga, who chases the killer. The "I dropped my smartphone" series, which was made into a movie based on the original novel by Japanese author Aki Shiga, recorded a huge hit with an audience of over 1.5 million and box office revenue of over 1.9 billion yen at the time of its first release in 2018. The sequel, "I dropped my smartphone, but the imprisoned killer," which was released in 2020, also succeeded as a hit by surpassing 900,000 viewers despite the situation of theater closures due to the spread of the new coronavirus infection. It was also made into a movie in Korea and is being remade in China, gaining high popularity worldwide. With the final chapter of the series, "I dropped my smartphone, but the final chapter, the final hacking game," scheduled to be released next fall, Kwon Eunbi has been selected as the heroine and is attracting attention. She revealed her thoughts, saying, "I'm honored to be able to appear in a work that has been loved by many people in Japan and Korea," and "I was looking forward to and worried about my first acting challenge in a movie, but thanks to many people, I was able to finish shooting safely, and I am grateful." She added, "It was my first acting challenge, and I had to act in Japanese, so I think there were some awkward parts, but the director, actors, and staff helped and encouraged me a lot, so I was able to enjoy the shooting." She also added, "I think this work is also full of thrills and will be captivating, so I would like to ask for a lot of interest and support." Director Hideo Nakata, who was in charge of the direction, praised, "Kwon Eunbi performed wonderfully in expressing emotions in Japanese and dynamic physical expressions." Kwon Eunbi has been active, gaining epithets such as "Global Summer Queen" and "Icon of Retrograde" by performing powerful performances at the music festival "WATERBOMB" held in Seoul, Nagoya, and Tokyo this summer. ・IZ*ONE-originated Kwon Eunbi, fan meeting in Japan for the first time in a year!
