BABYMONSTER released their 2nd mini-album 'WE GO UP' today (10th) at 1 PM. The album includes a total of 4 songs, starting with the title track 'WE GO UP', as well as 'PSYCHO', 'SUPA DUPA LUV', and 'WILD', showcasing their explosive energy and overwhelming talent with expanded music. BABYMONSTER, heavily armed with dynamic performances and conceptual music videos, has been tirelessly working even amidst their busy debut world tour schedule, conveying their determination to move towards higher places with their unique color. -- It's been about 3 months since the digital single 'HOT SAUCE' comeback. Please share your thoughts ahead of the release of the 2nd mini-album 'WE GO UP'. Luka: I'm very curious about the reactions from fans and the public, and I want to stand on stage as soon as possible. Parita: We've packed in a lot of wonderful visuals and good songs, so I hope MONSTIEZ (BABYMONSTER's fans) enjoy it. Asa: While preparing the album, I felt countless moments of excitement and tension. I'm really looking forward to how people will listen to it. Ahyeon: There are songs I personally like included, and I'm curious about the reactions to the stage we will show. Laura: After finishing the world tour, I'm excited to meet fans with new songs. Chiquita: I had a strong desire to share this quickly, and I'm happy that the day has finally come. -- Please introduce the 2nd mini-album 'WE GO UP'. Ahyeon: I think this album expresses what all the members want to achieve as artists. Like the title suggests, we infused our will to move towards higher places with our unique color. While preparing for this activity, I was able to feel once again that I truly enjoy music and the stage. -- What was the most focused part while preparing this album? Laura: I tried to show a new side that we haven't been able to show before. In fact, the new songs included have a different feel from the music we've done so far. Asa: To showcase that newness, we focused on expression. I wanted to convey the atmosphere and message of the song in my voice rather than just singing well. Both I and the members practiced a lot to convey our emotions well. -- Please tell us how you felt when you first heard the title track 'WE GO UP'. Chiquita: I thought, 'This is really us!' It was full of energy, and my body shook as soon as I heard it. While recording, I thought, 'This will be even more fun on stage.' It's a hip and energetic song full of enjoyment and charm. -- What are the charms of the title track 'WE GO UP'? Please also share your personal killing part (the part that captures people's hearts). Ahyeon: Listening to this song makes me want to keep running. All the worries I had while preparing the album seemed to fly away thanks to the intense beat. The killing part is the chorus, but personally, I like the rap part at the beginning of the second verse. It's like a small 'kick' part. Laura: I think it's the chorus. It gives a feeling like announcing the beginning of a battle in a movie. When that part comes in, I think you'll get immersed in the song. -- Can you introduce each of the tracks 'PSYCHO', 'SUPA DUPA LUV', and 'WILD'? Asa: 'PSYCHO' has an intense beat and unique hook that are attractive. It's a song that can show our rougher charm and powerful performance, so I think fans will be very happy when we perform it on stage. Parita: I personally like 'SUPA DUPA LUV' and listen to it often. Unlike the other tracks, it has a hazy and atmospheric feel, so the more you listen, the more you get hooked. Luka: 'WILD' is a dance song, but the genre is country pop. We've done a variety of music styles so far, but this is our first time with a country sound, so I think you'll feel a new charm. -- Please introduce the performance of 'WE GO UP' and how it differs from previous songs. Asa: 'WE GO UP' is an energetic and powerful song. It stands out with impactful rap and performance, so I think we can show an even stronger charm than our previous songs. Ahyeon: Every movement in the choreography has weight. Each part has a good formation that allows us to fully utilize our feelings, and I think all the members look relaxed. While dancing together, I felt that the members were really wonderful. -- Please tell us about the point dance of 'WE GO UP'. Parita: There are really many attractive points, but if I had to pick one, it would be the part where we raise our right arm high and make the number '1' with our hands during the chorus. Laura: Just like Parita said, there are many choreographies that convey the meaning of going higher, just like the title 'WE GO UP'. I hope you enjoy looking for those points while watching our stage. -- You teased a very conceptual music video, but can you give us a little spoiler before its release? Luka: We filmed action scenes for the first time. I think it will be a really wonderful music video. Chiquita: This music video has many movie-like scenes. I think MONSTIEZ will be able to imagine it even more fun than we do when they see it directly. -- What are the goals and plans you set for this activity? Luka: Like the meaning of the title track 'WE GO UP', I want to achieve good results. I'm filled with the desire for not only the title track but also the included songs to be loved by many people. Parita: I want more people to remember the name 'BABYMONSTER'. And since the year-end is approaching, I think there will be opportunities to show our presence on big stages like last year (laughs). This comeback is filled with expectations in many ways. -- What do you want to leave as an impression on the public from this activity? Asa: I want to be remembered as an artist who truly enjoys being on stage. I hope that when I perform, it conveys that I'm the happiest. I also want to be remembered as Asa, who makes the audience feel happy together. Ahyeon: I want people to understand that we worked hard this time too. I believe that if we prepare diligently, we can definitely achieve good results. Chiquita: When we get on stage, I want to prepare hard so that MONSTIEZ will be captivated by us. -- You met about 300,000 spectators through your debut world tour 'HELLO MONSTERS' in 20 cities and 32 performances. Please share your thoughts on interacting with global fans and what felt special. Luka: I was able to directly feel that even with different languages and cultures, we can connect with the audience through music. The support we receive from various countries is always a great strength, and since we receive so much love, I feel that we must grow to repay it with an even better appearance. Ahyeon: I was happy to stand on the stage I wished for, and I hope such moments continue in the future. The tour felt long yet short, and everything felt like a mirage. Sometimes, the feelings from that time become the driving force for my current self. Chiquita: It still feels like a dream. When I heard the voices and cheers of fans directly on stage, I realized that I am an artist. I also felt that even with different languages, our hearts connect. I want to meet MONSTIEZ all over the world. -- Please say a word to the fans who always support you. Parita: MONSTIEZ! Our 2nd mini-album is finally coming out. I'm really looking forward to this comeback, and I want to meet everyone soon and talk about various things. Asa: Thank you so much for always being by our side. Thanks to you, we were able to prepare hard for this stage. Please look forward to us returning with an even better appearance. Laura: I'm really happy that we will soon be able to meet fans with the comeback album. This year, we will finish strongly with BABYMONSTER and 'WE GO UP'.
