"Believe and listen," and "believe and see" performance group MONSTA X has made a comeback in full form in the music world. On September 1, MONSTA X released their 10th anniversary mini-album 'THE X'. 'THE X' is an album that encapsulates the ten years MONSTA X has walked through. The album title 'THE X' means "the one complete unknown" and connects with the Roman numeral "X (10)", presenting many possibilities and new directions while symbolizing MONSTA X's ten years. Energetically active both separately and together, MONSTA X has finally announced their return in full form through the 10th-anniversary album 'THE X'. The album includes the pre-released song 'Do What I Want' and the title track 'N the Front', along with four other tracks: 'Savior', 'Tuscan Leather', 'Catch Me Now', and 'Fire & Ice'. Having previously included self-composed songs, proving their self-production abilities, this time Hyunwon, Jooheon, and I.M participated in the songwriting, resulting in an album that is diverse yet connects to MONSTA X's narrative. The title track 'N the Front' declares, "Rather than following someone, we will set the standard," showcasing MONSTA X's attitude of confronting challenges head-on with a heavy bass, intense drums, and impactful vocals and rap. -- What are your thoughts on the comeback with the new mini-album 'THE X'? Shownu: I'm really happy to finally stand in front of MONBEBE (MONSTA X's fans) with the new album, but I'm also nervous. We took on various challenges this time, and I'm curious about how MONBEBE and others will feel about it. Please give us lots of expectations and support! Minhyuk: This album was prepared with the members working together more than ever to show MONSTA X's new side. We put our feelings into it to make MONBEBE happy, so please look forward to it. Kihyun: Since it's been a while since we released an album as a full group, I wanted to create something good and felt motivated while preparing. I want to show that MONSTA X has become stronger as a team and as individuals through this album. Hyunwon: After my discharge, I really ran hard just for this album, and it's profound to be on the verge of release. Since this album contains MONSTA X's ten years and the time we will move forward, I hope it becomes something meaningful for MONBEBE as well. Jooheon: The new weapon of MONSTA X that I've been talking about will finally be revealed to the world! I want to show that MONSTA X will only move forward, and since this album was made with great effort, I think you'll feel a new and intense atmosphere. I hope many people will listen to it. I.M: I'm grateful that all the members could come together to release the album 'THE X'. Since this album has many new challenges in both the music and the visual aspects, I hope many people will enjoy it. -- Various teaser contents and the pre-released song 'Do What I Want' have attracted attention; please introduce this song. Shownu: First, I wanted people to feel a new atmosphere. Since it's been a while since we released an album as a full group and we are celebrating our 10th anniversary, I wanted to show something cool that we haven't done before. Especially, the music video for 'Do What I Want' was a really bold attempt, and fortunately, it seems MONBEBE enjoyed it. Kihyun: I wanted to avoid the idea of "let's play it safe" the most. This album is truly a series of challenges, from the trailer to the concept photos and the music video for 'Do What I Want', I wanted to create anticipation by making people think, "MONSTA X can do this too, what will they do next?" -- In July, you successfully finished the full group concert 'CONNECT X'; did the performance impact the preparation for the comeback? Jooheon: Actually, this time 'THE X' was not prepared in a short period but has been built up over a long time, so there were times when I felt relaxed, but through 'CONNECT X', we gained tremendous momentum and were able to come together again to prepare hard. When we stand on stage, I want to quickly play a setlist composed of new songs and have fun with MONBEBE. I.M: Through 'CONNECT X', I was able to feel once again how happy it is to stand in a concert venue full of MONBEBE. Through the cheers of MONBEBE and the stage we create together, I gained expectations for the future and confidence, and with that power, we prepared this album. I'm very grateful to the members and MONBEBE. -- Do you have any goals or messages you want to convey through this album? Kihyun: First of all, I want all the members to be healthy and have fun while promoting. I hope this activity leaves a strong impression of MONSTA X's colors in the K-POP world once again. We will work hard to meet everyone in more diverse ways, so please look forward to it. Minhyuk: Through this album, I want to show that there are endless possibilities for MONSTA X in the future. Above all, I hope MONBEBE, who has waited for a long time, will be happy with our music and stage. -- Recently, you shot a 10th-anniversary gravure, and you decided to donate all the proceeds in the name of MONBEBE. Shownu: I wanted to leave a record of MONSTA X at the 10th anniversary, but at that time, I.M couldn't participate. Still, since it is a meaningful 10th anniversary for both us and MONBEBE, I thought we should do it with more meaning. MONBEBE has also donated a lot in our name, so the members had fun shooting together with a united spirit. Hyunwon: There are really various ways to deliver happiness to someone. We think we deliver happiness through our songs and stages, but this time, we were able to gather the hearts of the members, staff, and MONBEBE, and deliver greater happiness, so I'm very happy, and the 10th anniversary will be remembered as something truly special. -- Finally, please say a word to MONBEBE who has been waiting for your comeback. Shownu: MONBEBE, I'm a little nervous because it's a long-awaited comeback for the 10th anniversary. I'm happy that we have another album that MONSTA X worked hard to prepare, and I'm glad that various songs have been born that can fill the concert venue with MONBEBE. Please support us in this activity as well. Let's wrap up the summer properly. I love you. Minhyuk: This album is a challenge for MONBEBE, and it was completed thanks to MONBEBE. Since we want to respond to the support and love you send, the members worked really hard on this album, so I hope MONBEBE likes it more than anyone else. Kihyun: While preparing 'THE X', I often thought, "I want to show this to MONBEBE quickly." Each track contains the ten years we've built together, so I want you to listen to it. We will continue to work hard to be artists that MONBEBE can be proud of. I love you. Hyunwon: MONBEBE! I'm so happy and nervous that we can finally present this album. Since you've supported us for a long time and believed in us, I want to convey that we will continue to make music for MONBEBE. Please look forward to this activity too! I love you, MONBEBE! Jooheon: I think this album couldn't have been made without MONBEBE's support. You know that you are a huge driving force and reason for me, right? This time, especially, we put our feelings into making it to make MONBEBE happy, so I hope you listen a lot and enjoy it. I.M: This year, while spending time with the members and MONBEBE, I have received a lot of strength. Just as I did, I hope MONBEBE can recharge their daily energy and happiness through this album. We will also work hard and put our hearts into our activities.
