MONSTA X has captivated fans worldwide with their English songs. MONSTA X released their third full album "Unfold" in America through various music distribution sites yesterday (the 3rd). "Unfold" means "to spread out what has been folded," and it is an album that unfolds the stories MONSTA X has been folding for the past 10 years. They candidly bring out everything from wounds, growing pains, fading love, to inner voices they didn't even know themselves. The title track "heal" questions the meaning of "true recovery" in a relationship where they cannot let go of each other and keep repeating wounds. The impressive development from a heavy and majestic sound to an emotional explosion in the latter half is striking. This album includes 10 songs that sing about love with different temperatures, including "heal." The pre-released single "baby blue" reminisces about the remnants of fading love, while "growing pains" calmly confesses the passage of 10 years. Following that, "this!" captures sensory excitement, "before you met me" depicts the time spent trying to change each other in love, and "glass half empty" metaphorically describes the inner self that has been exhausted for others. In the latter half, "main attraction" shifts the atmosphere with a confident newtro synth-pop sound. Then, "enemies with benefits" delicately unravels a relationship where love and hate intertwine, and "on our way" expands the narrative with the moment when excitement begins again. Finally, through "sorry to myself," which apologizes to oneself rather than the partner before parting, the album conveys a message of self-forgiveness, concluding the album. Through "Unfold," MONSTA X takes out the time from their 10-year debut. This album, which depicts the emotional journey of facing wounds, experiencing growing pains, going through exhaustion and recovery, and returning to oneself, is a work that contains their human story.
