Popular YouTuber KwakTube, who revealed he was a victim of bullying, caused a stir by appearing with former April member Naun, who has been accused of bullying, on his YouTube channel. In response, the South Korean Ministry of Education made the bullying prevention campaign video featuring him private. Today (17th), the Ministry switched the video '2024 Bullying Prevention Campaign: Finding the Capable Ones in the Corner of the Classroom,' which was released on the 13th, to private on their official YouTube channel 'Education TV.' This decision is speculated to be in response to the controversy following the release of a video on the 16th, where he traveled with Naun, who has faced bullying allegations. In the campaign video, KwakTube stated, 'If you notice bullying, empathize with the victims, and report it immediately, even with a small ability and the same feelings, bullying can be prevented,' conveying the message of 'capable ones in the corner of the classroom who can prevent bullying (anyone can participate).' The Ministry had initially featured KwakTube, who confessed to being a bullying victim and gained support from many, in the campaign video released on the 13th, but made it private just five days later. On the 16th, KwakTube released a video titled 'My Romantic Week in Italy for the First Time (1),' which included footage of him meeting Naun in Rome. He invited Naun on his trip and discussed misunderstandings he had about her. He expressed, 'I feel a bit sorry. I was sensitive when bullying was mentioned, and I was surprised to see people calling me a victim or perpetrator, so I blocked you immediately, but then I saw articles saying otherwise, so I unblocked you.' He continued, 'I already knew about you, but I had never spoken to you face to face, and I felt sorry about many things. I have talked a lot as a victim, but I felt heavy thinking I might have hurt someone misunderstood.' In response, Naun shared, 'Time has passed, and I thought it wouldn't hurt. But to think that you misunderstood me like that and blocked me is really disappointing. Many people feel that way, which is very sad.' After the video was released, netizens expressed disappointment over KwakTube, a bullying victim, inviting Naun, who has bullying allegations, to YouTube and making protective comments. The video is now private, and some netizens have filed complaints with the Ministry, which quickly made the bullying prevention campaign video private.
Hyunju, a former member of April, revealed on SNS that she has been hacked twice recently, expressing her fear and urging caution. The rise in hacking incidents among celebrities has sparked concern among netizens, who demand action against the perpetrators. Hyunju debuted in 2015 but left the group in 2016 to pursue acting.
Naun from April refutes allegations of hidden advertising in her collaboration with YouTuber KwakTube, asserting she appeared for free and incurred no costs. The controversy arose from claims that their trip to Italy was pre-planned for promotional purposes, leading to a complaint filed with the Fair Trade Commission.
Kwak Tube, a popular YouTuber and former bullying victim, issued an apology for his comments defending Naun amid bullying allegations. He expressed regret for his past actions, acknowledged his ignorance, and emphasized the need for greater responsibility in his words and actions moving forward.
