NewJeans’ Danielle has become a topic of conversation after releasing a self-written song to coincide with the 4th anniversary of the fandom “Bunnies.” Danielle, today (the 29th), released a singing video of her new song “Stay” through her personal YouTube channel, “Danielle Marsh.” The song includes lyrics such as, “Even if you push me away, I cannot look away,” “Even if I fall apart even more deeply, I will raise myself up again,” “When no one is by my side, I wipe away the pain,” “I hope time will bring me back again,” and “No matter what you say, you cannot change it into something new,” and contains a message about a changed relationship. In particular, the fact that the song was released on the anniversary of NewJeans’ fandom also drew attention. On October 29, 2022, when NewJeans reached 100 days since debut, they announced the official fandom name “Bunnies.” Danielle posted a message on social media that same day saying, “Happy Birthday Bunnies.” Danielle, born in 2005, debuted as a member of NewJeans in 2022. However, after a dispute over the exclusive contract with ADOR, she was notified of contract termination last December. Currently, ADOR is pursuing a lawsuit against Danielle, her family, and former CEO Min Hee-jin for penalties and damages, and both sides continue to battle in court. After that, Danielle opened a personal YouTube channel and continues to communicate with fans while sharing updates about herself. • “In conflict with ADOR” NewJeans’ Danielle visits a member’s family home and also eats together? ADOR also won on appeal in its damages lawsuit against advertising production company Dolphin Kidnapping Group and director Shin Woo-seok. The court upheld that posting the director’s cut of NewJeans’ “ETA” music video without prior written consent breached the contract, even if oral approval had been claimed.
NewJeans’ Danielle posted a Melbourne vlog on her YouTube channel, showing time with her sister Olivia Marsh and outings for croissants, coffee, and ice cream. Fans noticed people and dogs that seemed linked to Hanni, leading to speculation that some friends in the video were NewJeans members. Danielle also showed affection for NewJeans by visiting the Great Ocean Road, posting a Bunnies Camp sticker, and sharing related photos. The text also mentions her ongoing legal dispute with ADOR.
NewJeans’ Hanni partly won a damages lawsuit against two netizens who posted insulting and defamatory comments about her. A Seoul court ordered each defendant to pay 100,000 won, saying their remarks were abusive and personal attacks. The court also noted Hanni herself had not acted in a socially blameworthy way.
Former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin won a damages lawsuit brought by BELIFT LAB creative director Huh over her 2024 claims that ILLIT copied NewJeans. The court dismissed the claims, saying the evidence did not show Shin, the former ADOR vice president, was involved, and that Huh was not clearly identified as the defamation victim. Huh later abandoned the appeal, making the ruling final and leaving court costs to him.
ADOR said NewJeans’ 2023 song “Super Shy” has reached 900,048,067 Spotify streams. It is the group’s third track to surpass 900 million, following “OMG” and “Ditto.” The song was a hit on Billboard’s HOT100 and the UK Official Singles Chart, and the group’s total streams are nearing 8 billion.
NewJeans’ Danielle uploaded her first video to her personal YouTube channel, saying she was in Australia and felt a little awkward being alone. She shared that she missed her hometown, nature, the sea, and her family, and said she spent meaningful time with them, eating home-cooked meals and visiting the city and beach. She then revealed plans to begin her first solo journey. The video drew major attention, reaching about 1.8 million views in a day and nearly 300,000 subscribers. Meanwhile, she remains in a legal dispute with ADOR, and NewJeans members are resuming activities through self-produced content and magazine shoots.
Hae-rin from NewJeans has embarked on her first solo activities after returning to ADOR, making her debut on the cover of 'marie claire' September issue. In a video greeting, she expressed excitement about reuniting with the magazine and shooting for the issue. This marks a significant step in her career following the group's contract disputes with ADOR.
