Actors Lee Min-ki and MONSTA X's Hyungwon will synchronize as senior and junior grim reapers in the workplace-like underworld. The short drama 'Death God Life Extension Project' (scripted by Hyun Ra-hee, directed by Lee Gye-byeok) is set to be released in the second half of 2026 in Korea, announcing the casting of Lee Min-ki and Hyungwon. 'Death God Life Extension Project' is a human black comedy that unfolds as a new grim reaper, who is a principled idealist, and a professional rule-breaker mentor grim reaper, engage in forbidden life extension. Director Lee Gye-byeok, known for films like 'LUCK-KEY' and the Netflix series 'Sweet and Sour,' is taking on the direction. Through the depiction of the underworld operating like a workplace, 'Death God Life Extension Project' raises questions about attitudes toward life and death, with Lee Min-ki and Hyungwon playing the roles of the mentor and the rookie grim reaper, respectively. Lee Min-ki plays the role of the mentor grim reaper Ganrim, who always slips through regulations but has the best performance, while Hyungwon plays the rookie grim reaper Juno, who only pursues principles and sees death merely as a job. The 'Death God Life Extension Project' is planned as a multi-format project covering film, mid-form, and short-form from the early stages of production, and it has been reported that all filming is currently completed and post-production is underway, with a release planned for the second half of 2026.
