THE BOYZ’s Eric has brushed off dating rumors with Jeon Somi. On the 25th, Eric spoke through the fan communication platform fromm, saying, “THE B (the fans), I have something I must tell you accurately, so I’m speaking up. I only went there briefly because I was asked by my older sister to do something. We are just industry acquaintances, nothing more and nothing less. I thought it would be right to tell you directly about the parts that are different, because it seemed like all sorts of strange stories might come out.” He added, “I’m saying this because I don’t want THE B to feel anxious or worried. And to THE B who were hurt in a way different from my intention, I’m sorry. THE B are all equally very important people to me. I hope there will be no more misunderstandings.” This was an explanation in response to rumors recently spread on social media by a certain internet user known to be Chinese. That person allegedly posted a photo of Eric and Jeon Somi together on social media, claiming the two were dating. Many fans already knew that Eric and Jeon Somi had been building a friendship as fellow artists. Even so, Eric clarified his position himself in order to prevent the rumors from spreading any further. Eric signed an exclusive contract with GRID Entertainment on the 10th of this month. GRID Entertainment stated, “We plan to fully support him so that he can demonstrate his abilities as an artist in various fields, including music activities.” Eric said, “Based on the experience and lessons I have accumulated through activities with THE BOYZ, I want to show many new sides and possibilities from now on as well.” He continued, “I felt sympathy with the musical direction and production vision that the CEO of GRID Entertainment is drawing, and I felt that it matched the image I want to show. I am confident that we can create good synergy based on trust and respect. I would be happy if you look forward to the many new sides we will create together.” Prior to this, Eric agreed to continue group activities with the members of THE BOYZ and signed with a new label. The members of THE BOYZ said, “Each member’s individual activities will be carried out under separate contracts with companies that can maximize each person’s abilities, but group activities will continue steadily in parallel with full cooperation.
